Luckily I did not have the opportunity to watch the game, but I will maintain what I have observed previously with this team.
Coleman thinks he’s on the NBA radar and tries to do too much. He should not be handling the ball as much as he does based on his poor decision making.
Mayer is out to get his own. Every time he catches the ball, he instantly looks to score or pump fake. He’s a ball stopper, never swings the ball. Maybe he should be looking for his shot, but it comes off as selfish.
TSJ is simply not a leader. He’s Robin, not Batman. I don’t get the sense that he’s out for himself like Mayer, but he’s just not a #1 guy except in games he gets hot.
I also think that with NIL and the top players being well compensated, Brad has to cool down his approach to correcting mistakes. The money these players are making has some level of affect on them, including the amount of screaming they’re going to tolerate. You don’t see NBA coaches yelling at players, and certainly not star players. The power that NIL has given players may well change the attitude towards Brad’s coaching style.
