And that president is from Oregon too. The new president/AD have really only seen the recent disasters. I think they want to make a switch in a year or two, but the big donor buying them a new stadium (Pat Ryan) is a huge Fitz fan. Their plan is probably to wait until they have all his funds in their bank account to make their move.

i’m not saying Fitz is directly involved , but it’s his program and more than a 2 week suspension is warranted

I understand the concept of "what's he supposed to say", but...Northwestern’s President Michael Schill said in a statement. “Our athletics programs are held to the highest standards, and in this case, we failed to meet them. I expect that today’s actions will prevent this from ever happening again.”

That strikes me as A) very naive about human nature, and B) a just a tad overconfident in the impact he has on a given situation, especially since he handed down an off-season vacation as punishment.

Given the finding of the special investigator which concluded the allegations of the complaint were “largely supported by the evidence,” Fitzgerald’s continued employment should be the issue, not whether he is suspended for two weeks during a recruiting dead period. While not completely analogous, Fitzgerald ignoring complaints brings a comparison to Joe Paterno closing his eyes at PSU. Apparently no lessons have been learned from the Paterno saga.

The story comes as close as it can without saying it outright that he basically gave the orders, or at least tacitly endorsed it.

If even half of that stuff is true then this is a disaster. There's no way people on the coaching staff weren't aware of some of this. What a mess man.
