I had predicted 51 - 10.

Team has room for improvement. They did not give up.

I am glad that no one was injured.

A bona fide offensive TD for young Cam Miller on the QB draw.

Much better team beat us in a rain storm, Lovie is doing best he can. Use the old Cub's saying, " Wait till next year" ;):illinois:

Why would Ohio State leading 38-7 put their # 1 QB back in the game in a rain storm ?

It could be Ohio State needs to impress the committee with a balls out blitz (Perhaps)

It could be JT Barrett has never played in the rain this year and needed reps ( Who knows)

It could easily have been 73-0. Thank you Urban for playing your subs. Right now, Illini football would be a mediocre team in any lesser conference than the Big 14. NIU could beat them handily. I hope things change. There's some weird satisfaction in being the worst team in the Big 14 . 14 teams, count 'em. Losing to Rutgers, which, IMO, shouldn't even be in the conference; Maryland, Penn State, too. Ain't Midwestern states. I love the regional thing. Nebraska OK; they got corn. Thank you Illini footballers! Beat NW!

All except Northwestern and one of the Michigans are Land Grant, even Rutgers.

SHouldve kep Ron Zook atleast we wasn't this bad. Maybe coaching blunders every 2 games but we were winning atleast 6 games. Looking at Purdue saddens me that they already ahead of us.

3 seasons out of 7. Were also losing 6 games and looking terrible doing it.
Just in case anyone still needs a reminder about how unsuccessful the Zook era was...

It's like people forgot about the massive washout ofclasses he had. It's a large reason why Beckman had no depth on his rosters and now why Lovie doesn't. Not absolving Beckman, because he chose to go after JuCo's, but it happened because Zook couldn't keep his players on the team.

The revisionist history is amazing to see.

I hope everyone will remember that Beckman was the worst coach to ever walk our sidelines. It will take some time to recover. The man was truly ridiculous. Firing Zook wasn't so bad, but hiring Beckman was a terrible travesty.

First time post here.
I attended U of I 2007-2011. My freshman year was awesome and I have to think Zook had something to do with that. I can't imagine I would follow the program as closely had I attended 2011-2015. What I would give to have another 6-6 season.

That being said, I was stoked when we hired Lovie and I'm willing to give it another year. This second half of the season has been rough and it would be much different if we didn't have all the injuries on offense. At least we have basketball now

Seriously, what is it that gives some of you hope? The team has been pretty bad in BIG play, recruiting is littered with 2-3 star players, and we have no electric playmakers in the system. I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I am not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Not worth explaining for the 30th time

"Electric Playmakers" are the kind of players that end up at Bama, OSU, Okla, ND.

We have Epstein, Smalling, Dorsey, Hobbs, et al. The kind of players that push you past IU, Minny, Rutgers and Purdue.

Once you get to that level and go to a couple of lower tier bowls you can get the attention of a few of the "Electric Playmakers".

Patience, Grasshopper. Patience.
