Finke out of position on d at end. Cannot put in a straight up layup at the end. Give me a break.

Foul trouble does us in again

Good fight, bad finish.

Pretty frosty handshake between Underwood and Holtmann. I wonder if that's just based on the game or if there's some other bad blood there.

Overall: Letdown and lost another big lead.

Selfish Trent is what we need in every game!

Missed calls, no question, however, we have NO CHANCE to win those type of games if LB and KN spend that much time on the bench.

TF and those 2 have to be on the floor, if they're not, we have no BIG type players on the floor.

Story of our whole BIG season...no ability to finish, and going cold for extended periods. I hope this experience results in something positive next year, because it is really hard to keep watching loss after loss, no matter how much the play overall has improved.

Please, please, please, get some shooters and a big for next year.

I would imagine the game. I don't think it was fun for either team. What an awful second half.

Couldn't execute the offense and get good shots at key points down the stretch. Had to keep settling for long jumpers, and since we have no legitimate big men, there are no second chance points like Ohio State gets. Finke is completely unable to play "big" in any sense of the word (read that "B1G" if you want). Completely out-muscled for rebounds and weak overall. Missed FTs also hurt - just don't have the talent to overcome mistakes.

That being said, every game is a learning experience. This season is obviously lost, but you're hanging right with several of the best teams in the country - this time on the road. I'm interested to see how Illinois does for the rest of the season, where they realistically have a chance to go 5-2 (and probably *should* go 5-2).

Need a little more mental toughness to get over the hump. Can’t do anything about missing shots. But bad fouls, bad turnovers, defensive lapses and lack of awareness cost us these close games. We don’t have he talent to win when we’re not mentally locked in for 40 minutes.

Nobody could guard Bates Diop, not a surprise.

Complete no show the last part of the first half.

Refs were terrible down the stretch.

AGAIN, don’t have the horses to compete. Need bigs and scorers.

Oh yeah, free throws!

This is the biggest problem...

We need some athletes, we seriously have nothing from between the 3 line and 5' from the basket...everything in between that is the ILLINI Triangle.

How can you go 11 minutes without a score and miss half your free throws down the stretch at this level. God we need basketball players. Guys who can create and put the ball through the hoop. Unbelievable once again.

I hate to rail on Finke, reality is, he is at best a stretch 3, when LB and KN leave the floor and with Ebo looking more and more like a freshman the past couple of games, Finke keeps being forced to play out of position.

The need for MULTIPLE big bodies next year cannot be overstated.

TJL's 2 brick FT's were the turning point.

So what was the 11 minute scoreless drought? The wrong turn into East St. Louis before the turning point?

Absolutely killed us at a major point in the game and his 2nd miss resulted in a foul and points on the other end as well. Alstork also missing 3 of 6 at the end hurt too

O the 11 minute scoreless drought was awful, but with the game in reach at the end regardless of that we blew it
