I really am optimistic on a deep run in the dance......we have the talent and coaching to maybe see a special season unfold....at least there will be humans in the seats this year

I am not at the open practice today. I would appreciate it if people who are could provide some highlights.

I will showcase some of the things I have been seeing on social media:

1. Luke Goode so far playing like the most ready to contribute freshman per Werner & Illini Report

2. Omar Payne vs. Kofi was fun to see per a fan page Illini Anthem

3. Curbelo looking fire and has been working on his 3 game per everyone. Can't confirm whether progress has been made with 3s

4. Plummer is legit from 3 per Werner & Illini Report

I just saw possibly the dumbest tweet. Some guy tweeted at Jeremy Werner asking if there would be a “write up on the site later today for those of us who couldn’t make it?” To Werner’s credit he teeeted back something like no we’ll keep everything to ourselves.

Werner’s early tweets indicate Belo and Plummer looking good.

I don't think there's anything wrong with making sure there will be something to read up on from the best Illini reporters.

I should have been clearer and said the guy was responding to one of Werner’s quick tweets from the practice. Given Werner is a reporter and works for a media outlet that covers the Illini, and this is the first real event for a team that fans are hungry for information about, and Werner is there — of course there will be a write up. Might be within the confines of the paid portion of the site, but that isn’t what he asked.

I though it was funny, but maybe you’re right and I’m being too critical. Anyway, hope there was a good turnout with the top recruits in attendance.
