Sugar Grove
One thing I learned from watching this game … relax, … sit back, … listen to some Rick Astley, … and have a Dr. Pepper.

Ty Rodgers has had a amazing season as a young sophomore. He is PacMan on the boards and down low. He Is Not A Point Guard. Awesome season so far! Kudos!

With about 9 min left up 8ish points and 3 TOs left, Domask (I think) picked his dribble up 4 ft north of 3 point line… was in no man’s land and dead in the water… I’m screaming at Brad to call time out. He doesn’t. Ball gets stolen and they make a transition 3… I thought it was a self inflicted wound and a big momentum swing. All on Brad.
Yeah … when is somebody going to invent that 2-way TV we all need???

Letting Kern get layup after layup for 13 straight points is what got Penn State back in the game. But Goode shooting a 3 with 20 seconds left on the shot clock was a huge mistake and coaching failure for not running time off the clock. Giving PSU 20 more seconds turned a W into an L.
Once again it comes down to coaching. BU is just not a good in game coach. You can have all the talent in the world but if you can’t coach in game that well than it doesn’t matter.

What a disappointing loss. So many things we could have should have done to close this game out. We have been flirting with this kind of result in a few games lately and just lucky it hasn't happened to us more. We have some things we need to get worked out by the ncaa tournament. I still say we are a second weekend team and threat to go deep if we get firing on all cylinders.

Who else has the ability to handle the ball and make free throws?

They've been doing the guard by committee since October. Get ready to keep soiling yourself because that's what we have.
The Domask dribbling the ball 500x between his legs, to then dribble to the sideline after crossing half court to get trapped isn’t the answer or the way it has to be.

Maybe bring some guys to the ball in middle of floor and pass in backcourt into front court. Use the height of Coleman, TJ, etc.

Brad dropped the ball on personnel and you gotta be more creative that what we had to watch tonight.

Domask isn't the all-world player we thought he was after a couple of good early season performances. Very skilled post player when he's bigger and stronger than his man. Also not a good decision maker with the ball, unreliable handles, and a below average 3-point shooter. Opposing coaches now understand how to gameplan to shut him down.

One of my favorite coaching books. (best 20 bucks I ever spent probably) Bob Huggins-I wonder if Brad has a copy?

I think teams have come to realize they can just dribble drive to the rim because all we do is jump away from the offensive player as they get to the basket.

It was my birthday today so what a wonderful birthday gift to end the day. A complete meltdown from the Illini. 😂

We didn't play with fire in the belly tonight. An indication that we think too highly of ourselves.
* No excuse for the Jr High level of clock management
* We needed Ty's ball handling in there late. Better to have had a few less turnovers and have him eventually foul out than to have him sit on the bench the whole time. Late game substitutions (or lack thereof) have burned us in several games
* Hawkins needs to stop squawking about fouls not being called and keep his head in the game 100% of the time. That would make more difference than another foul call or two
*How do we make 85% of our FT's until the last 5 minutes of the game in multiple games?
* We've had plenty of time to correct the late game meltdowns. Players and coaches have lost a lot of (future) money in the last 3 seasons here
* Love Harmon but the player he was defending completely blew right by him waaaay too many times.
* I know a couple high school coaches with far better in-bounds plays - and they work because all 4 in-bounds players desperately want to be an open target on EVERY play

It's one of our worst defenses of the last 20+ years. In fact, given the talent level on this team compared to the 3 teams that were statistically worse than this one, I would argue it is THE worst defense since Lon Kruger coached here at least.
Whaaat?! Are you slagging Lon?

Looks like we’d better see some numbers on that. I’m not saying I don’t believe you…but I’m not sure I believe you. 😂

Let's not forget the men playing for the Beloved are now paid professional players. The team, except for TSJ and MD, have not been playing up to expectation$.
I know he was very rough tonight, but overall this season Coleman has absolutely played up to expectations. Career high 12.4 points, nearly three stocks, playmaking, and most importantly a major leap to 38%+ 3-point shooting.
