I hope they are loose and go out there and play hard and have fun. Nothing to lose, so go after it! Presser after last nights win almost had the vibe of a loss. Chin up y'all!

If Nunn plays with intensity the whole game and Finke drains some 3's early, this could be a close one. :illinois:

3 to tie, 4 to break I think.

JCL is at 82 3PM on the season.

Since 94-95, the freshman record for 3PM is Cory Bradford in 98-99 as a red-shirt freshman with 85.

If JCL were to get 4 3PM tonight, not only would he hold #1 freshman 3PM in a season, but he would also be #4 all-time Illini 3PM in a season.

Behind
Luther Head in 04-05 with 116
Dee Brown in 04-05 with 99
Cory Bradford in 99-00 with 96

Once again this stat only goes back to the 94-95 season.

this plus hopefully iowa continues to slump. I do worry about fatigue of the back to back.

Im hopeful

2 keys to the game,,,,,10 TO's or less and 15 assists or more....those 2 things happen and chances are good we win.

Unless Woodbury and Uthoff get in early foul trouble, we'll need Hill, Nunn, Finke, JCL, and Morgan to all have solid games. There's no room for error in what is one of the worst match-ups for us. Luckily Iowa, has been in a funk the past several games, but they may have regained their confidence after the Michigan win.

I don't think fatigue will be a problem today, the blowout win meant minutes were distributed across more players yesterday.

In fact, it's often an advantage to have played more recently in these early conference tourney games.

I always noticed teams seem to come out very sluggish in tournament settings. I am thinking our game yesterday would be an advantage to us today. Fatigue won't be a serious issue until game 3 at the earliest, I would think. Hopefully we can make it that far.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think fatigue will be a factor because I doubt we're playing tomorrow. But there's always hope....

We have one clear advantage: We've played a game on this court, and thus shot at both hoops. If we play team ball on offense and get after it on D and on the boards, we could spring an upset. Ya never know.

The rims were pretty favorable to us (notice I didn't say refs). So, we do have a good feel along with a win on the that court.

The keys IMO are
-play active on O and D like it's your last game on earth
- focus on "making them extremely uncomfortable" on D

(pausing to grab my koolaide that is over half full)....

Do these two things and we will have a shot at the greatest Cinderella run in BTN tourney history.

The key to me is to extend the defense. Make the scoring go through woodbury. Don't let them shoot the 3s.

The other key is we need to shoot well.

Lets just hope and pray!!

GO ILLINI!!

Iowa's bench is one of the worst in the B1G.

Which is weird since they started out so good, they were getting a lot of bench production. When the bench stopped scoring is when their season started to turn downwards
