Maryland is likely our worst match up. Especailly without Morez. I honestly think either us or the Terps win the B10 tourney if we get Rez back. Although Purdue in Indy will be tough too.

If the boys can with the B10 tourney that would require 4 more win and 7 in a row. A great opportunity to klget a higher NCAA seeding.

Wondering what the fanbase would consider a success for the post-season. I don't know what to expect. Having TSJ last year was crucial to the team's success, and I don't feel like there's a leader that can elevate us in the same way. Lotta high potential individual talent, but no one I feel has that same level of leadership. KP has 4 BIG teams ahead of Illinois, and 3 more within 2 scores going by the analytics (OSU being one of those). Where's the over/under win total for BTT and the NCAAs? Personally, I'll go 1.5 and 1, but if they go on a run in either, I will be happy with it.

I got tickets for all 4 Quarterfinal games on Friday. Cannot WAIT!!!!
Awesome. One year, Illinois was in the bottom four of seeding and the tournament was at the UC. Day one was general admission seating so I went in a StubHub on a whim and got a $6 ticket. Ended up in the third row behind media. Probably won't get an opportunity like that again.

Big Ten needs to wake up and make the BTT a 10 team tournament. Should be able to get it over on Saturday as well. There is no reason to play 4 and or 5 games in a row. Hell, there is no reason to play 3 days in a row. It's just not necessary. Top 10 teams only giving "The Big Ten" some actual meaning again.

1) That is a lot of lost revenue, so the conference is never going to simply reduce the number of games.

2) The teams needing to play 4 or 5 games to win the tourney are likely needing those opportunities to try to make tourney or solidify seeding. Teams in solid shape for tourney will already have a bye or two.

3) The conference has the premier time slot for the Finals (right before bracket reveal). There is almost no appeal to move the finals to Saturday. The conference has two premier afternoon time slots on Saturday for the semis as well.

Therefore, none of this will ever happen!

I'm basically in that camp that any year that ends before the Sweet 16 leaves me bummed. That's where this program should be, IMO: good enough that we generally always have a seed that avoids the juggernauts until at least the second weekend.
