Exact same situation as last year with the first game - Iowa or OSU
I like it. If it's OSU, Illini will have to be focus and if they win, I don't mind Maryland at all. Maryland buried them in Champaign. Let's hope both 'Rez and Tomi will be playing together. Just want to see how much Illinois has improved since three weeks ago, and what a better way than with a matchup against the Terps.Likely path to the semis:
OSU
Maryland
Two chances at picking up two more quad one wins. Could get higher and higher in seeding next week.
Wondering what the fanbase would consider a success for the post-season. I don't know what to expect. Having TSJ last year was crucial to the team's success, and I don't feel like there's a leader that can elevate us in the same way. Lotta high potential individual talent, but no one I feel has that same level of leadership. KP has 4 BIG teams ahead of Illinois, and 3 more within 2 scores going by the analytics (OSU being one of those). Where's the over/under win total for BTT and the NCAAs? Personally, I'll go 1.5 and 1, but if they go on a run in either, I will be happy with it.

Come on, brother … a bunch of posts after the Duke loss, zero positivity after the Michigan/Purdue wins and now dropping in with some fresh doom and gloom? We can’t handle Maryland inside
Exactly - thought this board said we can’t handle at Michigan or PU. This team literally has a better kenpom efficiency and Q1 wins by a lot then last year. People find facts hard on this board.Come on, brother … a bunch of posts after the Duke loss, zero positivity after the Michigan/Purdue wins and now dropping in with some fresh doom and gloom?![]()
And they can't handle us if we shoot over 27% from 3We can’t handle Maryland inside
OK I give up, I don't see anything thereYou gotta zoom waaayyyyy in on the top right corner of the image to see it.
I watched them play MSU at home in person 11 days ago and I assure you that, healthy and at a neutral site, we can, even without Rez. It's all down to interior defense and denying Queen and Reese easy buckets there. We can’t handle Maryland inside
Yes Maryland the greatest team ever. They have Jokic and Giannis like players, no way we can handle them inside. We can’t handle Maryland inside
We can and will when healthy. We can’t handle Maryland inside
"Jon Rothstein is a clown" in lighter blue font.OK I give up, I don't see anything there

MD is my biggest concern, but I agree with you. We know we can beat MI and MI St.We can and will when healthy.
Michigan seems broken. I'm relatively unconcerned about them. I doubt they'll make it to Saturday.MD is my biggest concern, but I agree with you. We know we can beat MI and MI St.

Same here. We spend like a top 10 team we should be able to make it out of the first weekend.I'm basically in that camp that any year that ends before the Sweet 16 leaves me bummed. That's where this program should be, IMO: good enough that we generally always have a seed that avoids the juggernauts until at least the second weekend.
