I started mowing lawns when I was 7 or 8 to earn extra coin. The snow shovel was also great for making some money in the off-season.

My friend's 17 y.o. has never had a job, even a part-time one, and lectures me about how to run the government and society. Different times :p

Indiana is good
Kenpom has them (24) ahead of Wiscy (28)
They're 13-1 at home with wins over Purdue and OSU

No one has them favored for it, but 2 games back is still very much in the hunt for the BT championship.

From the sounds of this, seems like they are planning on double teaming Kofi - I foresee a lot of 3's being put up if that happens.

Our team 3pt shooting percentage has taken a dive these past few weeks. Would be great to get back on track where we hit 10-12 at a good clip. Think we will need something close to that to pull off a tough on the road.

IU is my Missouri. For that reason alone, this is a must win. But I also think that to stay on a 4 loss pace, we need to win at least one of the next two. And I think we will.

TJD is going to feel Kofi.
Yes, growing up on the border with all of my TV coming out of Terra Haute, I had the stinking Hoosiers cramed down my throat, gawd I hate them. Please Please Please beat IU on Sat!!!

For Woodson , who played at loosierville and played and coached in the NBA and now is the head coach at Loosierville to call us Illinonoise 3-4 times is mind blowing .....I am sooooooooooooo glad we have a coach like BU , who knows how to correctly pronounce the name of an opponent .................
I take back what i said in an earlier post about watching The Journey show and thinking the loosiers made an upgrade with Woodson........

SMH...........................JMHO

what IU player is Plummer referring to that wrote Illinois on the white board?
It was TJD. Nothing disrespectful, just reminding his teammates after a win that it’s back to the business of preparing for the next opponent on the schedule. Fonso using it to stoke the competitive fire, as in, “You want us? OK, here we come…”

I used to collect pop bottles to turn in for my BB cards .........got 2 cents a bottle at the local grocery store....the owner knew I bought BB cards so he always gave me an extra pack when he settled up with me ........many times i would leave his store with 8-10 packs and when i got them all opened i would chew the bubble gum and blow the biggest bubbles around ........fun times
I would trade all my Cubbies players cards away. Still have my card collection and not one Cub in the bunch. Lots of Nolan Ryan though.

Yep, Race is the one that concerns me. He is a match up issue due to his size for DMW and Jacob. I wish Hawkins would step up, play more physical without fouling, limit mistakes, and just play like we all know he is capable of.

Also when BBV arrived he shot the three pretty well and now he never does that. I know it's because he was playing the 5 but I wonder if he still cam do that why not let him match up on D with Race Thompson. I think he could do well.
Agree, Race has been playing well this season in the games I've watched. Also agree that giving BBV at least a look vs Race is not a terrible idea. BBV has the strength to match up, just dont know if he can stay in front of him.

Not sure why so many here think TJD is overrated… He’s averaging 18 a game on 60% shooting, 8.5 RB and 2.7 BLKs. He’s the kind of quick, agile, bouncy athlete Kofi sometimes struggles to guard. Race gives them a nice 1-2 punch. The real “trap” of this game could be how it’s called vis-a-vis Kofi’s fouls/playing time. If the teams are allowed to play as they were in the WI game, I love our chances.

Agreed that TJD’s defense - other than blocking shots - is over-hyped. Just as we may have a hard time guarding their bigs, they have no one capable of walling off Kofi. If we can get him the ball down low (and he stays out of foul trouble), he could go off for another 30+.

Yeah, I agree TJD and Race give them a nice 1-2 punch. Wish we could have that offensive rebounder in Race. Concerned about the short turn around time. And how the refs call the game.

what a bunch of typical loosier jamokes on this podcast. pronouncing kofis name cok-burn? hating on UI fans for how they and Chester treated IDKWTI in 2008. also the host that doesn't know how to say kofi's name is a big CP3 fan for some reason and is mad Deron got more attention than CP3 even though we were a much better team, which is how it usually works. again, no one ever said Hoosiers were smart

Am I missing something here? Looking at the schedules, it looks like the Illini, MSU, and Purdue all have 9 conference games left. Do we play 19 to their 18? I'm probably reading something wrong. They say that when you get older, you start forgetting things. But, I can't remember what things you start forgetting. Thanx in advance for whoever corrects what I'm missing.
Every team plays 20. Unless games are postponed and not made up. Iowa at OSU was just postponed yesterday due to ice and snow storm. You can check Big Ten Men's Basketball site and click on each team to see who they have played, if any games were postponed, if any games were rescheduled, and what games remain.

Interesting that AC isn't even an afterthought for Woodson or TJD in these interviews.
Noticed that too. However, AC will unlikely get more than 15 minutes of play. Ofc, only Brad knows for sure the plan or can change that as needed.

Anyone road tripping to IU?
Wow, was reading this IU preview, and it’s shocking but at the same time not surprising that Frazier’s 3-point percentage fluctuates so wildly depending on where he shoots it!

He’s frickin’ automatic from JUST left of straight on and not great from the wings. I have like subconsciously totally known that, lol, like when he pulls up after dribbling like three feet to his left, I practically start cheering already! Interestingly, Plummer is somewhat the opposite - loves the sides.
Is true. Also Grandison lethal mostly from straight on beyond top of key. The thing I love about Grandison is the ball exchange back and forth between he and Kofi from there when he's hitting his 3's.

Belo, if he’s healthy enough to play meaningful minutes, may be the ‘X-factor’ in this game, considering how aggressively Indiana likes to play the perimeter. He has the smarts and dribbling chops to make them pay for overplaying passing lanes.

I’m having sweet daydreams of him breaking down their defense, then smoothly hitting an open three-point shooter, a cutter to the basket, or Kofi on a lob. Or, using his knack for finding the open spot for a short-range jumper for himself - or an open lane for a layup. Wow, as I type this, I’m getting more and more hyped for this game!

After every game Trayce has been writing the name of the next opponent on a white board for his teammates to see as they walk into the locker room. It's his way of reminding them to focus on the game that will be at hand instead of self congratulating.

I'm fairly certain that a team as successful as Illinois has been this year is not especially concerned with an opposing player reminding his teammates who the next game is against, or the opposing coach pronouncing a silent consonant.

Peace

I guess it's not surprising, but interesting that they went ahead and said that they plan to do a lot of screens on the offensive side to try to pull Kofi out of the paint where they can take advantage of their superior quickness.
