This entire KJ situation is so weird. The lack of details surrounding his injury makes it that much worse. I remember he had a midline lower throat abrasion and a scratch on bridge of his nose late during the Washington game. I believe KJ when he says his day is class, sleeping, and training; he seems super focused on his career and making a 4.0.

If he had freak accident such as wrecking a bike, slipping on ice, missing the last step, etc, why then the secrecy? If he got attacked by wino on Green St., why the secrecy? If there was a bar altercation or a fight in a dorm/apt., there would be news everywhere. Doesn’t appear he fought a teammate since there was a blowout win against PSU. I will be concerned if he does not play against the Hoosiers and we don’t know more later this week.

Some of you think that the Illini will get amped up for the Hoosiers after this horrible performance. Don't you think the Hoosiers will be amped up after their beatdown in Iowa. Beside they are HOME against a rival. Maybe both of them will be so "amped" up they can't even hit the backboard with the ball. That seems to be the norm in most games for the Illini.

My man, if you are suffering this badly from watching our games maybe take a break

jk lol

Some of you are really overthinking and fantasizing about this. He has tendonitis. Athletes get it from time to time.

Haven’t seen a high resolution photo; however, this left forearm tendinitis appears to be accompanied by bilateral swollen knuckles and maybe even some slight abrasions.

I do remember some years where this exact same situation happened. We had a bad loss right before heading to Bloomington for a game. I was certain we were going to get torched, but we ended up taking care of business over there. Not sure how many times we've done it, but it feels like about 3 in the past several years. Anyway, different teams and different year, but I'm not going to assume we'll lose.

The response below should have been for this post instead of the one above :)

The best takes are the mostly fanfiction 3D chess, 3 steps ahead, [Brad Underwood = (Bill Belichick + Greg Popovich + Nick Saban)], so here is mine:

KJ was playing too well and the team was becoming reliant on his good performance coming out of the PNW run, so BU arranged for KJ to put on a fake swollen hand, told the team and media he was injured to build the "next-man-up" motivation going into PSU, however knew that they would beat PSU so badly from this motivation that they'd be worn out before essentially a 2-day turnaround and get humiliated at home by USC. This humiliation acts as motivation to go out and win both IU and MSU.

This may be far-fetched so insiders correct me if this is wrong.

So... you've never played sports?
Sure have, sounds like maybe you have not. These guys all know each other, play with and against some in aau ball. They play so many games by the time you see them play. Trust me they have lost before and were not humiliated by it. Embarrassed maybe, pissed, maybe but humiliated?

Not getting into the who has played sports and who hasn't based on their opinions, but I do buy into the more businesslike approach to the game.

Celtics just got blown out at home by a middling Sacramento team with the Celtics at full strength and Sacramento missing an All-Star PG (Fox). They shot 11-41 from 3 point range. When you miss that many 3s and also get outrebounded like they did (56-43) then you are going to lose. There is so much parity at these levels now, you are going to drop a few games here and there in ways that don't make sense to casual fans. But, the Celtics are a championship caliber team and that game does not change this in any way. You can still go to any sportsbook and they'll be the favorite to win the championship, even after this game.

You get dunked on, you get up and dust yourself off and be ready for the next play coming at you.

Far fetched ..yes, but there may be some benefit.

Around the same time last year, TSJ was suspended....Last years team ultimately survived and I think got more resilient with a few games without him.

As for game, ...
knowing our luck Goode will be unconscious and go off 9 / 10 from 3p land to defeat us. Our luck goes that way alot🤔

Any ways to record on Peacock? Can you pause it live and revisit a few hours later?

I don't know if you pause it when it is live if it will let you pick back up in that same spot after an extended time.

You are able to watch it on demand once the live broadcast is fully finished.

Either way it's definitely more of a pain to watch it back on Peacock than when recorded on a regular DVR because you can't fast forward through ads and you can't see what you are fast forwarding.

I can never get the radio synced properly with the TV when the games are on Peacock. Every commercial break it will get thrown off.

Thank you. Do you know if the replay is posted immediately after or does it take a while? High school basketball is quite the interruption on watching the Illini.

It's not too long after the game ends. I believe there is usually a post game show, so I think once that is over it processes for a few minutes and then becomes available to watch in full.

With a 6 pm tip if there are no overtimes or long delays I imagine the on demand would be available around 9.

It takes a while. It doesn’t drop until like 2am for some reason. I know I tried to watch the Wisconsin replay and it wasn’t available until after midnight central time.
