Indiana by 10+.
Can we or will we score more than 14 pts in a half at Indiana??
Our library is still bigger.
If there ever was a game that earned the phrase "gut check," this is it. This is not a win, but it will be a chance to claw back into playing like a real team. If we come out and compete the whole game, and lose by less than double digits, I actually see it as a positive sign...god help me.
Someone has to step up, but I'm not even sure who that could be. We don't have anyone who looks athletic enough to even get a shot off at the moment and TF is going to have a rough rest of the season. He can't do it alone. We could easily lose by 20 again.
The rest of the season could get fairly ugly
He did do a nice job of driving to the basket. But to open things up we need someone to hit a few outside shots. Without that, driving just becomes that much more difficult as everything collapses. I suspect that's a little of why TF was less successful than previous games. They collapsed the lanes and were able to play him tighter on the perimeter. And we do not move the ball like other teams to find an open guy. By the time we do the defense has already adjusted. I have no answers. Obviously.I believe that TJL had at least 4 layups in the last game, which is a huge improvement, and it didn't matter. Didn't open anything up, either. Strange.
This isn't rock bottom?
Am still hopeful the team comes together before it is all over. Theoretically, if IL happens to win 2 more games. They would not have to play the first day of the B1G tournament?
Also hope A.J., Black & Finke tell the Freshmen what it is like playing in Bloomington. IN will want to avenge their loss from a couple weeks ago. But it would be so nice to get that first road win.
No. If we lose the rest of our games and the first game in the BTT and don't even play a game in March, that would be rock bottom...

Underwood: Get ready for the Hoosiers after a very tough, disappointing game against Penn State. In looking back at the tape, really we had every opportunity to put a dagger in 'em in the 1st half.
Underwood: We missed a dunk. We missed a layup in transition. We missed a couple free throws. We talked about those things. And then, our lack of effort in the 2nd half. That's not something I'm going to stand for.
Underwood: The last 8 mins was us just laying down.
Underwood: Finke did not practice yesterday. We'll see where he's at when he goes through the protocol again today.
Underwood: Archie is one of the best tacticians out there. Thought they did a good job on Trent the first time.
Underwood: Greg is an elite rim-runner. He was going hard early. Gave the defense some problems. Didn't maybe go as hard after that and we talked with him about that. Need guys like Mark Smith and Aaron Jordan to knock down jump shots to unclog the lane.
Underwood: One of thing that's been challenging is I don't know where (the production) is coming from night to night. Had two starters the other night who didn't score a point. We're searching a little bit.
Underwood: We're going to see a loaded lane tomorrow. We've got to counter that.
Underwood: We ran our halfcourt spread offense early against Penn State as well as we have. Scored on seven possessions under 10 seconds.
Underwood: When things don't go well, we move like our feet are in cement.
Underwood: It means so much to wear that jersey. And I don't know if our guys understand that yet. It's bigger than them. When the opportunity came to coach here, I knew what it meant.
Underwood: We showed them clips and clips yesterday of the greatest to ever play the game and the emotion and passion they play with. We're not playing like that. Trent has some of that... There's times I'd think we were at a funeral.
Underwood: Played (at IU), never coached there. Great shooting gym.

This. When things go bad, guys let Frazier just do his thing. Drives me crazy.
Which isn't dissimilar to the several years prior:Same as last year. Here Malcolm, take the ball, we'll just stand around.
Losing a Battle for Last Place at Rutgers can still happen. This isn't rock bottom?
