Really looking forward to attending the game. Perfect fall football day forecast: partly sunny to partly cloudy through 4 p.m., temps 58 at kickoff rising to 63. Light wind (5-6 mph) coming from the north to NNW. That's basically blowing into the horseshoe end (on your left as you watch on TV) to the open end (on your right) and the large NE side of the stadium (having a huge, ugly balcony.)

SECU Stadium is unusual. Nearly all college stadiums are oriented so that the field runs N-S and the home sideline is on the west side (the sun is increasingly in the faces of the opposing sideline as the game progresses.) The Terps' stadium is oriented NW-SE with the home sideline on the SW side.

OK; no more meteorology and Rain Man stadium details. Football! :illinois:

Locksley and Zook together could sell snow cones at the south pole. What neither can do assemble a fundamentally sound football team and then coach it on game day.

zook was 7-6 his last two seasons at illinois (ok, technically 6-6 his last year, and i know he lost 6 straight.) after zook we were in the wilderness for a decade.

edit : dang, i guess my soft spot for him hid the fact he was 34-51 (18-38 big ten) here. apologies, @gibb52 , your point stands

Yep, outside of the two BCS bids (Sugar Bowl in 2001 and Rose Bowl in 2007), the Illini were pretty much in a wilderness for two decades until Coach B righted the ship.

If the Illini are able to win two more games, that would mean that the Illini will have gone to a bowl game in three straight seasons (four in five). That type of run has not been seen since the late 1980s/early 1990s. Really a quite remarkable turnaround for the program that was stuck in neutral for so long.

Forecast got better IMO... a little more sun all the way through:

Small craft advisory overnight, however, so be careful on the Bay ;).
