If you want some entertainment and instruction in the delusional mindset, check out this gem of a thread concerning Fears on MSU's Red Cedar Message Board:

My personal fave is the post fulminating at "the University of Michigan controlled media."

In case you don't have time, I'll bottom-line-big-picture it for you: he's just as God made him, the greatest guard in CB in the past 20 years at the very least, and Dusty May is either a whining simp or Machiavellian genius.

Oh, and everyone does it. You know: "it." Fears just gets picked on.
It is amazing the reach and influence of THE Michigan University. It reaches right out and takes control of the media 350 miles and 4 states away. It makes me smile.

the little munchkin will have his team doing anything they can possibly get away with so his team can upset the # 5 ranked Illini and stop his team's 2 game losing streak..................the lepruahcan (sp) is a master-bater of officials and has been crying on the sidelines since his first game as a coach...............

he knows his team is NOT worthy of the # 10 ranking they have now and losing to the Illini at home will further their slide in the rankings and seeding in the Dance.............so I expect a plethora of dirty plays by All the spurtans Saturday..............Let's just hope whoever the refs are will call the fouls that are surely to be committed by the thugs @ Breslin detention center.............

I'm hoping to see a Flagrant 2 called on Fears and him being ejected and subsequently suspended for the rest of the season.....it won't happen but it should if he continues to play as he has this season.......

there was another play in the minny game where Fears hit a minny player in the back of the head as the minny player was driving in the paint towards the rim....it wasn't Fears man but he cracked the dude in the brain stem area and the minny player was complaining about it to the refs to no avail.................

Fears is a dirty player through and through......he really really is............

Riding a 2 game losing streak, no way Izzo reigns in Fears’ dirty plays. He will be in the officials’ ear from the tip trying to put fouls on us and he will do whatever he can to protect his guy, like he did last night when he threw an absolute fit because the refs had the temerity to even want to look at the video to see if Fears kicked a guy in the nards (spoiler: he did).

I just want to get out of this game with Keaton’s face intact and no suspensions. Even with Kylan I would have gladly taken 1 out of these 3 road games, and we’ve already got 2 in the bag.

Annoying and it stinks and it ain’t basketball but it is what it is. Just get out of this game healthy and intact.
If the conference and officiating consortium had any foresight on assignments, they’d put their most thick-skinned officials who are not swayed by a home crowd on this game.

This was a game that, 30 years ago, I’d be begging for Ed Hightower to call. I always thought he was one of the best at not letting the home crowd get to him. For a modern-day, NBA example, that official would be Scott Foster. Love him or hate him, he does not have a favorable home whistle.

To be clear, I don’t expect this. We’ll get Carstensen, Anderson, and some other guy and they’ll do what every official does at Breslin.

That is the one that should be talked about most. Flying elbow with a lot of intention. Could break a jaw. Blatant is f***

#108
That elbow might have been the worst, WWE-type stuff off the top turnbuckle. And no call.

I can't think of a more dangerous and intentional action. He braces his arm before delivering the blow to the opponent's exposed neck. Crushed windpipe? It's one thing (and still dirty) to trip a player hoping to gain an advantage; it's quite another to violently attack an opponent's exposed neck like that. Was that called a flagrant 1? That should have been an F2 and suspension.

This board does this too, except - even more pathetically - with Northwestern.

I expect the Spartans to play really hard at home after a two-game losing streak. Brilliant deduction. But aren't Izzo and Fears on notice by B1G office and refs for thuggery? Should be. You may say I'm a dreamer ... Imagine.

Illini are the better team; stay cool, play your game. No Pizza Hut stuff, but don't back down. Easier said than done. Coach Brad will set the tone.

Wear the blue - it looks real tough to me.

Even if you hate him for the Morez tampering, the league should thank Dusty May for having the balls to say what everyone has been thinking.

And calling out Kofi's punch against the ref (like it wasn't accidental) from five years ago. Delusional does not even approach the level displayed on that board, I read just the first page and felt physically ill.

Fears will push it as far as the refs will allow it....at which point he gets a flagrant and the raging angry Elf will detonate on the sideline.

Looking at MSU, they are deeper and balanced on their scoring. We need to run them off the line like Minny did the first half last night. Gotta keep them off the boards. Their half court offense isn’t as strong as they have been in the past. Limit their second chance possessions and slow their transition offense and we should win. Their best defense is having the refs call ticky tack fouls against us. We are the better team and we need to show up and play like we have the last few weeks. We need to switch out defenders against Fears. Keep him guessing. I say we put Jake on him. No need to put Wags on him. Davis is taller and longer. Shut down the passing lanes and they will start jacking threes. Let’s frustrate the hell out of them. If Fears drives, have Z hit him with a hard but clean foul.
If Fears play Andrej will guard him

I liked this one:

"Jeremy Fears is quietly performing at a historically elite level this year. Not good. Not great. Not elite. Historically elite. Believe it or not, there is not one single Bob Cousy (Point Guard of the Year) Award winner over the past 15 years who has put up numbers anywhere near what Fears is putting up this year. Not Ja Morant. Not Kemba Walker. Not Shabazz Napier. Not Payton Pritchard."

Had to double-check those stats here, but I think the comparisons may be a bit of a stretch. It's shocking to me that there are other fan bases' boards out there that can truly let it fly like that totally unchecked.

Believe it or not fellas.
He's right, the other guys score and rebound way better

I am soooo glad I pulled up the Red Cedar site this morning. Full-on, fever-swamp, bats$#t-crazy delusional.

Can't wait for the follow-on to the other clip: "The MN guy lunged, neck-first, at Fears' elbow that had been placed in a defensive position anticipating an imminent assault."

The Red Cedar board is no doubt crowdfunding a retainer for Lionel Hutz, attorney at law, as we speak.

I am lmao

If Ugochukwu's out, I could definitely see this.
Izzo may want to pre-empt the conf. from suspending Fears from more winnable games for MSU like Wisconsin, UCLA, or Ohio State.
Then he can whine to the selection committee that the Illini loss was without two of his best players.
Time honored blue blood tradition.

Our coach was caught passing cash to a recruit. We're cutting his meal allowance on the road by 20% to show everyone how seriously we take this.

Now Kofi did snap during one of the MSU games and slapped the stuffing out of an MSU players arm and in my head squared up on him ready to throw down.

In my head the officials didn’t call anything when it happened but everybody stopped for a beat like there was a whistle.

The Kofi hitting a ref thing was hilarious (especially i wasn’t the one being concussed), but he had no idea that official was there.

2 things bother me about the MSU game.
1. They were upset at Minny. Izzo is going nuts right now and will jack them up. They will come out ready to play.
2. The Illini hit 17-3's. I just hope and pray they have enough left to take out the Spartans. It was a team effort led by unselfish play. I hope we can do that again. but I would like to seey boy Keaton go off again.

Still remember attending the game in January 1985 where Booby Knight benched four of his starters against us. Sloppy game.
