Because the odds of this team doing what we expect is really low. Go Illini. If anyone here is confident we’re winning straight up let alone covering 8.5, I’d love to know why.

I get that. I’m referring to the outlook on the season back in say, September or October. A young team with no returning starters (and only one returner period) is/was extremely unlikely to have a consistent/great seasonNo one here expected this team to be the worst 3p shooting team in the B10 (and one of the worst nationally). Which is arguably #1/#2 reason the record is what it is.
What if they need to actually shoot more 3s?
And Junior and Hamer are still in charge of the offense and defense.Re Brad's willingness to make changes/adjustments, my 2 cents is that there are two widely differing answers:
BU's big picture willingness to adjust philosophy/strategy has often been good. He dumped the full court pressure D once he realized that would not work and the Big 10; he realized the importance of recruiting a senior-filled roster (for last year at least - not sure what happened with that this year), he began recruiting toward positional length, he has recruited the world, and more.
But as this board has hashed out many times, in-game adjustments are seemingly questionable due to his stubbornness. Do we remember how the first half of the UConn game went last year, when the strategy was to drive it right at Clingan, only for him to block everything that came his way? Brad then made it clear during one of his sideline interviews (paraphrasing) 'we're not going to change a thing, going to keep taking it right at him'? He got roasted on the national scene for that.
In my view, two different questions, two different answers in terms of his ability to adjust and change.
How do Brad's 9th and 10th season go?How was Matt Painter's 7th season compared to Underwood's?
How did his 9th and 10th seasons go?
I'm confident in us in the home games next week. Today, they need to show meThis is our good game. The next one will be a loss.
The early bird gets the tequila worm.Booth is forced to play due to foul trouble and drops 15/5 and we win…I’m drunk. Also Davis with 12 and the game winning 3 with 1 second left!

Another good example Pasadena! And Junior and Hamer are still in charge of the offense and defense.
I have seen those plays and agree. But the Rutgers game I saw a team outmuscled on the boards. I think our lack of inside defense hurts us.Have you watched us inbounds the ball this year or are you to distracted by the constant in game adjustments?
I've been there multiple times. Was there when Abram's hit the shot to seal a W there.Has anyone in here been to Williams Arena? I grew up in Moline and was fortunate to play at Wharton Field House which was built in the 1920s and seats over 6000.
Williams arena is much larger version of that. I’m guessing it was also built around the same time. It has some obstructed views due to pillars. I’m guessing it’s similar to the old Chicago Stadium (never went there unfortunately).
Anyways, if you get a chance to see there, I highly recommend it. Hopefully we get a needed W there today.
Smug much? All these coach's notes from keyboard warriors are cute. I am enjoying this, please continue with your mania about college hoops, its fun.
Ref "still"...is "Junior" ref to Tyler? If so , you say he had keys for offense against uconn in elite 8 (and "still" does)? And Junior and Hamer are still in charge of the offense and defense.
Amen, my brother. This is my 42nd season of being all-in on the boys.Yeah, I don't think I'll ever go home now. Too many years (decades actually) where I was only able to see the Beloved play once, maybe twice a year on tv. To be able to watch every game? I'll enjoy and suffer the highs and lows just like others here based on the team's results. But I'll never leave them. I'm an Illini for Life (tm).

As Forrest noted, "It happens." Let's make some lemonade. Yeah, mixed metaphor there.
I'm going to resist introducing Caddyshack into the chat given our opponent this evening. Please respect my impulse control.
The team has not responded well to adversity so far. It has been so hit and miss. I just hope they get out of the funk starting today against Minnesota.Would love to see if anyone who’s been around the team can read the energy and vibes for today. Cause honestly the vibes seem real bad lately
Don’t feel confident in any of our remaining gamesI'm confident in us in the home games next week. Today, they need to show me
