Interested to see this installment of Morrow v Black. The major justification for not recruiting Morrow at the time that I recall was LB was basically the same player, but it seems Morrow has developed a little better.

Didn't NE just blow out PSU at home? The same PSU team that swept us this year? That doesn't bode well.
Its just a matter of style. My personal style, when I'm swimming upstream is not to shout it with a tee shirt, it is to get quiet, get tenacious and go out and do it in a more stealthy way. I still keep reaching, I just don't pound my chest about it until I've proven a reason to do so. As I said, just a matter of personal style.
And Illinois swept Northwestern. Which just goes to show that the transitive property doesn't apply to basketball.
You know, if we didn't keep getting ourselves into a giant hole every January, we wouldn't need a ladder.

The Illini also swept the Squawkeyes and they are handing it to Maryland, on the road, right now... All of these comparisons make my head spin.
And I was at the Penn State game at Penn State. The Bryce center got very quiet in the second half. If (yeah, I know, if) the Illini had played the entire game like they did the latter half, it would have been a blowout. In our favor.
As it was, PSU barely squeaked out a win, aided by a questionable call. Penn State may have gotten a W out of that one,but it didn't feel all that good to the Penn State fans.
Darned close to being a win for the good guys.
Don't you mean the "ladder half"?
Any word on JCL? Is he a go for Sunday?
If not, the ladder is confirmed as available.
I got you beat by 2 years. That Nick Weatherspoon-led team at 14-10 left a very strong impression on me as to how hard Illinois plays bball. I still carry that impression to this day. And you know what, when I don't see it, I know it. That year I remember they played UCLA in a winter tournament and only lost to them by like 7 points. I followed UCLA's scores the rest of that season and I believe we came the closest to beating them out of all the teams they played. I bet you we scared the living bejeebers out of them that game.
I still believe this team has the talent and upperclassmen to "win out" their last three games and "run the table" in the big ten tournament. Gotta take it one game at a time at this point and bring their best defensive effort in the remainder of their games for Illinois to have a chance.
This is total nit-picking but the correlation does exist. It just don't support a conclusion that the "loss following win" is the cause of the next loss, for exactly the reasons you gave, which means the correlation has little predictive power about what's likely to happen on Sunday.
