Wow, wow! That line was 7.5 for a brief time early this a.m. Maybe people have finally figure out that AA is a neutral site and that there will be a ton of orange there.:thumb:

It really is a big move for a game that you would not think would get a lot of action.

I like how we match up against NU. Hoping for a win.

I think we'll be in it. Not going to predict a win, but I'd take us and the 6 points. Wake's size gave us trouble (along with road/refs), and this should have neither.

Man. I would love if the boys could pull this one off but I just don't see it. Either way, I'll be in Section 210 wearing orange.

IL - 61
NW - 67

Derek Pardon will try to cancel out Leron. Barrett Benson can't defend Finke but the reverse is also true. Benson is the biggest guy on either team so it will be interesting to see how we try to neutralize him. UI needs to contain McIntosh and Lindsey (NU goes as those two go)

The worst nightmare for our defensive system is not Dorrell Moore type of player. We can double-up bigs and rotate when we get used to it.

I think the biggest problems will be Vic Law and Miles Bridges. They only have to beat one guy at the perimeter and then it's an open dunk on us. It is also harder to deny entry pass to them than to those immobile bigs.

Moore can go just right over us. Bridges we could send a second at him and force the ball out. The problem there is Bridges has a lot of options where to pass the ball.

But Moore causes issues on both sides of the court for us...especially with his three point tips

All the posters saying they don't see us with a chance in this one. I have not been impressed with NW at all this year.

Neither have I...but I still can't shake the feelings from the last few years. Even though I know that Underwood will have them coming out to play hard tonight.

Right? Mildcats have been mild this year, and Illinois is going to come out angry and chastened after Wake. I expect a solid performance and a win.

Yeah I cant see having no chance, this is a team we beat twice last year, and they have been worse. I think it's a toss up honestly.

Big game, because Maryland I dont think we can beat, and 3 straight L's isnt a real positive.

We sucked last year and swept the Mildcats.

We have a great shot here.

Wow...69.5 are the overs for the Illini tonight. Seems like a nice number to take the overs.

Agreed! We swept the Mildcats last year with Groce. I think we'll get another win against them tonight!

True.

But let's be real. Where you impressed with Wake prior to Tuesday night?

Last year we had Malcom Hill. Big difference.....

Yep.

I really think people are underestimating the youth and inexperience issue here. On paper, do we have more talent? Probably. Do we have a better coach? I think so. But this is a team that returns almost everybody from its NCAA tourney trip. That experience is very meaningful.

They haven't looked good this year, but teams manage to step up against their arch rival. I suspect NW will play better tonight than in their previous games. I just hope we can do so as well.

Now, if this game were in March, I'd take Illinois. Illinois will close the gap with NW over the course of this season. But there's still a gap at the moment.

Man, I really hate playing two NCAA tournament teams in conference play this early. We just aren't ready yet. Early December is when you're still learning the system and learning how to play with one another. It's not a great time for a young team to play a veteran rival in conference.
