I say we get rid of the constant switching on D. We are too young and we have not been together long enough to successfully switch. On offense, I want to go back to the low post game with Dain. I think he is a better passer out of the post than Kofi was and we can get better looks or more driving opportunities. We have an NBA look now where our guys are standing around waiting for someone to dribble a bit and take a shot of drive. Too much ISO. I would even bring the weave back to get teams moving on D.

You must not have watched the last game

Don't care for the weave. Keeps everybody outside and Illini have not been good cutting to the basket off that offense. Not sure of the name of the offense Illini played last game, but it had lots of movement, driving and kickouts. Me Likey!

I did. We were still standing around while an IOS 3 pointer was hoisted. We were playing a bad team so lets not get ahead of ourselves lol

Considering we ran pretty much all already, two cutters through, pinch post stuff and 0 5 out….didn’t switch anything in D either….pretty much what you were asking them to do in your initial post.

My prediction: Skyy comes back and is a difference maker with something like 10/4/3 and pretty good defense on their guards, and we win an uncomfortably close one.

I may be wrong, but overall this season I’ve been impressed with Skyy’s game. Has generally played within himself, rebounded well, and generally held his own defensively. Last 2-3 games he’s definitely forced some shots and obviously got abused defensively vs Mizzou, but overall I think he’s been fine. A pretty typical up and down FROSH. I haven’t noticed issues with effort, body language etc. with him like I’ve seen with other players. But maybe I’ve missed it.

First college season can be a grind, and if he was a little nicked up good excuse to give him mental health break as well as a physical one. Sometimes that can help reenergize/refocus and I think it will here.
I can agree with this. But, I would like to see him get beat on quite a few less backdoor cuts -- that's not exclusively a freshman thing, that's a got-caught-ball-watching thing. He's definitely good enough for that not to continue.

Skyy is really good and I hope he stays for a few years to develop into a next level player. For those of you that remember DWill's freshman year, he was good, but didn't take over games and wasn't NBA ready. Not saying Skyy will be DWill before he leaves, but freshmen do have a learning curve, especially coming off a major injury.

DWill's jump from his freshman to his sophomore campaign was nice. Skyy has a chance to be really good. I too, hope he sticks around. He has a ton of potential.

Northwestern is saving their best shooting game of the year for Wednesday.
I really this this game will hinges on if we actually have a good shooting game.
Heck our defense can make it difficult on other teams, especially if we have a more man to man approach. IMO, I still like the press and drop in to an aggressive man to man though.
