There will be no Orange in that dinky little “arena” other than what the team brings. Penn State will allow no one but season ticket holders in rec Hall. What is Rec Hall? Think Huff Gym with more seats. It’s quaint. Built 1921 or such. I’ve been there for volleyball.

But I had bought tickets via SeatGeek—presumably from a season ticket holder—and SeatGeek took them back. I asked what the deal was, and SeatGeek said the seller was told he couldn’t sell them.

So the only way Illinois fans might be able to get tickets would be directly from the ticket holder.
I just checked on Seat Geek and there are still plenty of tickets available (some as low as $38 ... before fees, of course). Perhaps Seat Geek can set filters that limit sales to only Pennsylvania zip codes .. not sure.

Are we sure about that? Its getting played in a tiny arena. Fans will be right on top of the court, likely a full house due to the limited capacity and the small area will amplify the noise.

Need to bury PSU early and take the crowd out of it.
Gimmick games like this are for one reason - the team thinks it's a winnable game and they want the additional novelty and atmosphere. If I'm Underwood, I'm leaning into that and telling the team PSU picked them for this game for a very specific reason.

Would be kind of a good cool environment to play in when you can't fill your arena.

I was in undergrad during the Groce years and never got to see them make the tournament so wasn't too excited for games but would have made a point to go to a game at Huff or Kenney.

I was in undergrad during the Groce years ...
You are a hero, pushing forward despite that challenge. I was an undergrad during the Henson years and so being a fan was easier. My wifey (then girlfriend) dragged me from the library to Assembly Hall and into Orange Krush (which was a blast!). Don't miss-understand: she was the far better student, I just had to work at it. Even though I was the basketball player and later coach. Life is an adventure, brother! Hold onto it tightly!

The seats are listed…but “the venue” isn’t allowing transfers of tickets. I have a Pennsylvania ZIP, and I had my tickets pulled. I have friends who are Penn State fans (one helped train James Franklin while he was in college) and they couldn’t get tickets. I’ve talked with other people partial to Penn State and they all agree that it’s not a good look for PSU.

That won’t matter to PSU if they win. They must not win.

What does that mean? The seats listed can’t actually be sold? Does that mean there will end up being a 500 or so empty seats?

I don’t know. What I do know is I got an email from SeatGeek saying they were sending my money back. When I asked if they knew why, like I said, the seller said it was the venue’s call. If you can get seats, send them to me. I’ll go.

I know originally, Penn State said only season ticket holders would be allowed to purchase tickets. But it seems almost impossible to police who ends up using a digital ticket. If that’s the case, I hope they end up with a sellout, but only a quarter of the arena filled.

After your original post, I went to SeatGeek out of curiosity and, sure enough, a box said “seats not available for this game.” But then later I noticed there were tickets listed. Very bizarre.

Kenney Gym holds 3000. We have not sold that few to a non weather game in 100 years.

Old Huff before the remodel was 8000. And Illinois had a phenomenal winning percentage (.815) there.

If we can handle Stoneybrook before a sellout crowd of 4300, we will be ok here.
Ha, lowkey one of my favorite Illini games in recent memory. A place we would have never otherwised stepped foot in and it was actually a tough, hard fought win.

One thing is for sure … we won’t have the atmosphere we faced at NU, MSU, Maryland or even Ohio State. Let’s win by double digits and keep this streak goin’.
Wrong. Yes, playing at BJC is not a home court advantage with its curtained off upper deck, BUT this game is at old Rec Hall. It will be packed. It will be loud. The students will go after STJ relentlessly. It will be a home court advantage for Penn State.

An opportunity for a Co Big 10 title will come with challenges. Their's starts Wednesday night.

Just an idea: Seat Geek is a ticketing partner of most, if not all, BT schools. Try Stub Hub and see what happens.

Actually, that Shannon Terrance Jr is supposed to be a heck of a player. :)

And if there is EVER a school permanently disqualified from heckling a player about a paper-thin sexual assault allegation, it’s the Fighting Sanduskies (MSU is a close second for Larry Nasser).
It seems like the heckling so far hasn't been quite as terrible as anticipated...there's definitely been some crappy chants but a lot of them sound half-assed from the student sections. Just my uninformed POV from the coziness of my couch
