I don't really expect to beat #1 ranked teams on the road, so this feels like a house money game to me. I totally think they can win, but I'll understand a hard fought loss.
That’s gonna be an amazing game to watch. Illinois is playing with House Money. They have nothing to lose but a whole lot they can gain.

I see no reason that Domask can't back down any of those guards from Purdue.

Beginning of the season I thought we’d probably lose this one. Last week I definitely thought we’d lose this one. But now…
I wasn't even really considering going out there again until halftime of tonight's demolition derby.
Now the ticket is bought and we're going to kick their !!!.
Defend the three relentlessly. Pressure the guards to deny the entry pass. Make the guards work to handle the ball.

I also hope the refs enforce the 3-second rule, even though crews rarely call it (especially against Edey when he’s camping out in the paint).

Why the f*** not? We are playing inspired, FOR EACH OTHER, in the face of incredible adversity. I know transitive property is generally worthless in sports, but … you know that team we just throttled? Yeah, they beat Purdue. And so can we, especially with the Paint Crew on break.
Three things are clear to me:
1. This team is INDEED as “connected” as any team we’ve had since 2005 … they’re special.
2. As others have said, we are SO playing with house money. A loss here does NOTHING to dampen our spirits.
3. After the crushing TSJ news, if this group went into West Lafayette and beat #1 Purdue … damn, guys … that might be a top 5 all-time Illini memory for me. LET’S KEEP THIS THING ROLLING!

Side note on how quickly dynamics can change over the years, the full length video of our 2005 game in West Lafayette is on YouTube. Whereas we now consider Mackey an elite atmosphere, go listen to that video - it sounds like an Illini home game!! Would be nice to see a lot of orange there!!
