Is this a game where you say let Edey get what he gets and just try to guard the hell out of the perimeter?
I agree and Dain is big enough that he can cause a challenge when Edey is posting up. Get Dain the ball early on some drive and dish under the basket and maybe you get Edey in foul trouble.
Always the case against Purdue (imho). Our long lineup that we started against Michigan is actually a better lineup against Purdue - their guards struggle with length. They really remind me of us last year with Kofi and small guards.

From what ive observed, it's key for the guy guarding Edey to beat him down the court on transition plays and make him fight you for position starting at least the free throw line. If he gets position deeper than that, you are buried.
In the half court, I think you have to throw doubles at him and hope they miss their 3's.

I don't think so. He's too efficient. At some point, efficient 2s will be even better than a good look at 3. His efficiency is part of why they're so successful.
I think the only way they beat Purdue at home is with their A game, or something close to it. Purdue hasn't played that well lately, so they may be having a mental lapse. A lot of teams do, knowing the really big games are around the corner.
A win would do wonders for seeding, but looking at Kenpom's analytics, Purdue should be favored by double digits (think the line is only 8).
I hit peak happiness that day as well. Every day since has been a long, lonely grind with sparse moments of fleeting psuedo-pleasure while waiting for the inevitable hands of time to finally chime the midnight hour on my life.
But yeah, that was a good day.

Ty Rodgers is bigger than most point guards, and he's now playing there out of necessity for the Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Over the summer, Ty Rodgers tried playing point guard for the Illinois men’s basketball team.
Illini coach Brad Underwood and his staff envisioned him there for stretches, but early in the season, that changed with the team having other options. Rodgers’ role became primarily as a wing player.
“We thought (point guard) was going to be a position that was very natural for him,” Underwood said. “As it turned out, it was a benefit to him that we did that then. It wasn’t at the time.”’
Now, that’s shifted more into focus with Illinois becoming thinner at point guard. Jayden Epps is “progressing” with his concussion after being released from the hospital, Underwood said. He won’t play or make the trip when Illinois ends its regular season at Purdue at 11:30 a.m. CT/12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
