Curious about this too, as there’s been a lot of research lately challenging the benefits of electrolyte powders for athletes - and I’m curious what the best strength & conditioning coach in basketball is having our guys drink.
Diluted beet juice?

Just watched some highlights from Tennessee.. something I noticed, they frequently over contest on close outs, and aren’t great at recovering on a drive by. Would like to see a lot of step in mid range jumpers from Marcus, Terrence & Luke. We also are a lot bigger than them, and I don’t think they have seen a guy as good as TJ yet. We should be able to abuse them on the offensive glass.. as long as the refs allow it…I really really really like our chances tomorrow… I really do 😉

Almost drove to Knoxville yesterday, but made the last minute decision to stay home. You can all thank me as I'm 0 for my last 10 live sporting events --- starting with the Purdue home football game a year ago (and then followed by the Mississippi State Bowl game, three Illini basketball games last winter, the 3-game Cubs sweep in Atlanta, and then Kansas and Wisconsin football this past fall.) Maybe I need to go see Colgate in Champaign and get back on track........

I'll take the Illini to cover the 6-7 points, but the game is a toss up.

Depends how Illimois reacts to crowd. This Illimi team won every Spain game, beat Kansas, FAU. Believe they will play them tough. Tennessee seems like a top 20 team, Illinois a top 10. UNC is not top 15 and they smoked Tennessee.

Seems like this is similar to FAU in terms of Illinois has the rebound advantage, but Tenn. can create turnovers. Must protect the ball.

Since I’m a Tennessee grad, but grew up an Illinois fan (thanks to my dad, uncle and aunt), I’m boots on the ground today in Knoxville. Tennessee’s guards haven’t looked the same this year. Vescovi can’t hit water if he fell out of a boat and Ziegler has been a turnover machine. Need to keep them shut down though because if they get hot, it’s going to be a long day. Good thing is, we (Illinois) are much bigger at those spots.

Stick Terrence on Knecht all day to keep him down and then beat Tennessee up inside. Drive the basket and feed Hawkins/Dainja/Guerrier/Hansberry in the post. Aidoo will foul because that’s all he knows how to do and Tennessee has no depth behind him. Awaka is big but clunky and for some reason Rick Barnes likes to go to Cade Phillips next instead of JP Estrella.

It’ll be a packed house today and it’ll be loud. It’s a bit of a bad scheduling spot for us on a 3 game road tour and catching a Tennessee team that has been kicked by Purdue, Kansas and UNC in a row.

Fouls may be the big difference in this game. If TSJ were to uncharacteristically get into foul trouble, then things could get rough. Domask would have to shoulder the load, but he is a bit more foul prone than TSJ. Plus, the obvious, if we can't hit F/T than we are in trouble. Stay out of foul trouble, hit free throws and come home with a big W. Oh, and score more points than them. :)

Tennessee is well coached. They have hit a rough spot in their schedule. They are at home. I think it will be a nailbiter.
