Wisky is in the middle of playing 5 of 6 games on the road and will be coming off a 20+ point loss to Purdue. Maybe a good time to play them. OTOH, this game is probably their easiest game left on the schedule and a must win if they want to turn it around and finish anywhere near the middle of a bad B10 conference. It should be a close one, but I'm still seeing the IU or Rutgers game as the first B10 W.

I was just going to say Wisconsin will probably be good & mad looking for a good home showing as they are down 34-14 at Purdue with 5 min to go in the first.

You who else should be mad?

I can see our pressure D creating some TO's and points...Wisconsin not taking care of the ball against the Boilers....keep Happ in check and we should be good

On the other hand...not looking forward to playing the Boilers....Haus and Harms will have their way with us

TJL is being held out due to special practices where he sits on Leron’s shoulders.

I had to laugh at this for a second. Took me some time to figure out "who's who". Always conjures up images of meeting the various potential in laws over the years.
Good luck!!

Hahaha thanks! Should be a fun evening regardless of the outcome. Although I don't know if me and my parents can weather another Illini heart-breaker.

A couple of years ago, we were at the Penn State game in State College with seats in the middle of the season pass holders, and sitting next to us--my wife was my college sweetheart at UIUC--was another Illinois alum but a faculty member at PSU...and a PSU fan. We didn't talk much during the game.

My wife got her PhD at Maryland but would never cheer for the Mutant Turtles. And while we're big fans of the DivII state school where she teaches, cheer against Illinois? Never. (Although the "I" hitch cover on her vehicle comes off before she parks in the faculty parking lot. No need to push things).

But yeah, tomorrow: We don't need no stinkin' Badgers.

Yea I'm going to try and convert her, but she's latched on to the badgers since she went to Cornell and sports here in Madison is significantly stronger to say the least. Although, I might be doing her a favor by not converting her to the orange and blue any time soon...

For all the old Hee Haw fans... If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all... Gloom, Despair and Agony on Me!!!

Wisky will bank in a three to beat us on Friday...

For you young 'uns who have no idea, https://youtu.be/lHcEWhbQkEg This once passed for humor. And all things considered, we were probably better off when it was.

I thought it was Bill Self that went by this
I have been keeping the standings this way for 35 years. I showed it to both Bruce and Bill. Bill said he had been keeping standings in his head like this for the top competing teams, but had never seen it on paper before.

Remember the Weber standings? Here they are as of last night:

Purdue +3
Ohio State +3
Michigan State +1
Mich +1
Indiana +1
Nebraska 0
Maryland 0
Wisconsin 0
Minnesota -1
Penn State -1
Northwestern -1
Illinois -2
Iowa -2
Rutgers -2

I'm hoping that winning our first game in conference will flip a switch for this team. If we play with a little more confidence after experiencing some success, maybe our players will be a little hungrier to win. And it could snowball after that.

From my 7th grade math teacher. Many years ago. Probably the only thing I remember

As I sat there sad and forlorn
A voice came to me out of the blue
Cheer up, things could be worse.
I cheered up and sure enough, they got worse

Interesting metric. Winning at Wisconsin moves us to -1 and Wisconsin to -1. Assuming no other changes, we go from a 12-14 tie to an 8-12 tie.

I bet if you ask any of the coaches we have played so far EASY would not be a description of the process of playing us. That being said am I saying we win?? not at all, However Easy we aint....

A win at Wisconsin more importantly, moves Whitman's 3 hires (Lovie, WBB, & MBB) conference record from 2-28 to 3-28.
