That ain’t trueI read somewhere that the Illini have a 35% chance of making the CFP. That seems high to me, but I like it.

3.5% sounds about right to me
I think realistically, using ESPN predictions for game outcomes, there's a 1.1% chance Illinois finishes 16th. And that was picking the best case scenarios (aka: realistic outcomes) for the remaining games of the teams ahead of us.That ain’t true
Exactly this. Illini need to play solid football the next two weeks and get to 9-3. CFP is out of play, but a warm weather game in Tampa and a chance for back to back double digit win seasons is a great consolation.I think realistically, using ESPN predictions for game outcomes, there's a 1.1% chance Illinois finishes 16th. Anything higher than 16th basically had a 0% chance of happening. Then again, you play the games, you don't roll dice to determine outcomes. So, we'll see.
Illinois can only control one thing at this point: just win.
They announced Fickell is bqck next season.View attachment 45145
2022 game got Badger coach fired. Great memory. Can we repeat?
If you allow me to choose the outcomes of all remains NCAA football games to be played over the next three weeks, that 35% figure is valid.I read somewhere that the Illini have a 35% chance of making the CFP. That seems high to me, but I like it.
I think we were competitive against OSU. Some of their fans even said so. But for the turnovers, I think it would have been a close game. You are what your record says you are. They were not competitive in any of the losses. Defense is not close to a championship level.
Why are we settling for only in the first half?! Points on every possession!I hope we pay attention to detail, such as a lineman eligible who didn't bother to report it to the referee.
Here's to a resounding Illinois victory. May we score a touchdown on all our possessions in the first half.

Neat post. I did the math. That's only 6.7 ppg. Astonishing. And some recent games I've seen up there show lots of empty seats; never thought I'd see that!View attachment 45150
Which (lack of) offense sticks out? It will be disappointing if the defense allows double digits.
Good observation but I prefer this (alphabetized) ranking.View attachment 45150

I will settle for a field goal or 2 in the second half, and TDs on every other possession. As you say, points on every possession. Why are we settling for only in the first half?! Points on every possession!
With respect to Wisconsin and Illinois.............Good observation but I prefer this (alphabetized) ranking. View attachment 45151
Maybe but they were never made to get out of first gear.I think we were competitive against OSU. Some of their fans even said so. But for the turnovers, I think it would have been a close game.
During B1G play. Still pretty bad.Wisconsin has only scored 47 points on the Season????
In their win against Washington they only had 48 passing yards. Their leading passer was their punter with 24. Even giving up 14 points to these guys would be a bad look.Neat post. I did the math.
