With all 3 Rb's available please Lunney don't go run heavy against Wisky. They have very stout D.L. and not sure our O.L. can get openings. Pass early get a quick lead and force them to make adjustments. Its early but what is weather outlook in Cheeseland?

Clear with temperatures in the low 40s and winds predicted to be around 10 to 12 mph around game time.

I'm a romantically hopeless fool for my wife and my men's football and basketball Illini. I am predicting Chaos across all of college football today. I predict a 20-17 victory for our men. Let's keep winning and go South after Christmas for some warm weather and a 10th win.

I think realistically, using ESPN predictions for game outcomes, there's a 1.1% chance Illinois finishes 16th. And that was picking the best case scenarios (aka: realistic outcomes) for the remaining games of the teams ahead of us.

Anything higher than 16th basically had a 0% chance of happening. Then again, you play the games, you don't roll dice to determine outcomes. So, we'll see.

Illinois can only control one thing at this point: just win.
Taking a view of the current rankings, remaining games, and stretching my imagination of the possible outcomes, if Illinois wins the last 2, they will probably end up around 15. That won't get them in the CFP conversation. Let's just look forward and hope for back-to-back 10 win seasons. I believe that's called historic for Illinois football. Even though the Washington loss disappointed me because I knew that was it for the CFP, which is what I "expected" going into this season

I think we were competitive against OSU. Some of their fans even said so. But for the turnovers, I think it would have been a close game.
Agreed. There were many "unlucky" events in that game, especially early, that put us in a hole there is no way to recover from against an OSU.

In any particular order? You don't have to answer that.

I actually don’t think there’s enough teams ahead of us that can lose to bump us to 16. That’s what I’m saying. Pretty much every team ahead of us has insanely favorable matchups the rest of the way. The only reason we move up is if some crazy upset happens, or if the CFP voters adjust their voting over the next couple weeks.

I don’t think there’s any chance in heck that we are even in the CFP conversation at this point or moving forward. I’m just saying that even if everything that could realistically go our way does, I still don’t think we crack the top 16 anyway.

Do crazy upsets happen in college football?

Not the kind we need. And not more than the 1.1% chance I said originally. It would take multiple insane upsets for us to move to 16. Not 1 or even a couple.

Let’s just watch Illinois win these last couple games and put this CFP talk behind us.

Let’s concentrate on winning the last two games and get back to the Reliaquest Bowl against the Longhorns.
