That's an outstanding article. Thanks for sharing!

Hill may just be the early favorite for POY in the B1G next year, unless I'm forgetting someone.

It's crazy, there are some 2017 recruits in this state that are roughly 2 years(give or take a couple of months) older than Hill.

I like that Hill is getting recognition from the talking heads. It takes a lot for a player to get that going, especially on a team with a yucky record like Illinois.

I want to see Malcolm Hill score over 30 points and keep doing what he does.

I want to see DJ Williams score over 20 points and rock on with his bad self.

It's been a while since Finke has had a solid game, yeah, we all know about the injury. I want to see a coming out party for him.

I want to see Nunn pour it on like an insane madman who goes out and does some tractor tippin' for fun.

I want to see Mav utilize his size more inside and be ferocious, and slam it down with authority like he owns Kreckel's in Mt. Zion and Black Dog in Champaign. Must also D up, especially on Happ cause he's like a magnet around the rim.

I want to see JCL hit his threes, but also penetrate, drive and finish at the rim more. He's got the skills to do it. I want to see it done.

Just beat those stinkin' Badgers and their cheese. Need a good statement win.

Prediction:
1) Finke gets back into a groove and puts up 12 pts.
2) JCL continues to improve and hits at least 3 threes
3) MH and KN play up to abilities combining for 30
4) DJ proves he's for real against high level competition and scores 10, getting several key offensive boards
5) Mav continues steady play and steps up on the glass
6) Beloved wins 66-63 and puts Illini Nation at ease temporarily
7) Thorne comes back and plays the rest of the season after big win

Has it been announced that Thorne will play? I hope so, and I hope he looks better than he did against Indiana when he wasn't very mobile.

I really, really look forward to the day when upcoming game threads and NCAA Tournament discussion threads are longer than the coaching threads, future season threads, recruiting threads, and everything else.

I can't even remember the last time that that was the case. Remember what it was like to be excited during basketball season? :(

Man, am I desperate for a really good season of basketball (or I'd take football, too). *sigh*

Amen to that.

Yes I do remember last season;)

I agree on the first paragraph though.

i think this game will go one of two ways:
1)recent news has completely demoralized the team, especially MH and KN, who realize that the possibility of never playing in the NCAA tournament is very real. we come out flat and are down 15-20 at halftime
2)recent news/heat on JG has motivated the team and we play a tough, close game throughout.

Can't see this any way other than a decisive L. Would love to be wrong.

I live just south of Madison and attend every basketball and football game that comes to this halfway respectable city. I would absolutely love to see a victory in person - I can't recall the last time Illinois won in Buckyville. Please give me a little bragging rights!

That was the game in 2010 where it seemed like McCamey got to the free throw line about 1,000 times in the second half, haha. Great day!

But yeah, I'm not as optimistic this time around. :(

We'll want some D from somebody on Nigel. Not sure who we have for that assignment.

Not that I don't like Thorne's sartorial displays on the bench, would be nice to see him in a uniform today.

I never do this. I've got no rational explanation, but I've got a good feeling about tonight.

flip that blanket

I worked in Madison for a year and when I was transferred, my fellow employees, knowing I'm an Illini, gave me a red blanket with a large white "W" on it as a going away present. I looked at it and immediately turned it upside down, turning the W in to an M...which is the first letter of my last name.

Hey, Illini, turn the blanket upside down for me again.:illinois::D
