Going to hold to Mike LaTulip’s theory he gave after the Penn St blowout and the USC loss, both without KJ. He said a team rallies around the injured player and plays above their role for a game before they start pressing more the subsequent games.

At least that’s what I’m going to tell myself…

I'd like to think of myself as having a fairly high pain tolerance, which is why I ask you ....Do you know how flipping bad a broken wrist hurts, ESPECIALLY for the first week after the injury? It's going to be blown up like a balloon and even 2 or 3 weeks from now, if someone, even accidentally, bangs that cast.... he'll hit the ceiling.

You can't just roll him out there to get reps in. He plays SO physically and is a rebounding machine, which requires both hands. This doesn't even begin to mention other teams being "accidentally" slapping at that wrist.

OR our live by the three, die by the three works in our favor? We've been awful for 6 weeks, now would be the time to flip the script.
I don't disagree. The reason why we manhandled OSU in the second half is because we just pounded it inside, which opened up clear perimeter looks. Keep doing that.

And we haven't been "awful" for six weeks. Blowout @ IN; push at EL w/o KJ; NW, OSU, MN, UCLA all solid. USC, Maryland, NEB, Rutgers, ridiculous, I agree. The problem isn't that we suck. The problem is that we're inconsistent and young. Adjustments aren't only via coaching, they're form leaders on the floor recognizing patterns from experience and doing things differently. We lack the latter. And that leads to things like getting up double digits and then blowing those leads.

Also contrary to popular belief we were + when Ben was on the floor and -when he was off.
Dravyn comes in and gambles on defense like he always does and gives up 2 baseline drives for easy buckets.

And don’t make me go back to last year and find everyone’s posts about Tyler being a good offensive coach lol
Using +/- for a single game is well known to be extremely misleading and flawed at best.

What isn't flawed is seeing clear as day that the opposing team has been coached to take it at Ben's chest every chance they get. He's been scouted and identified as a weak defender and teams are scheming around it. See the NU game where Martinelli's eyes literally lit up everytime he had Ben Iso'd. Brad could tell as much, which is why in the second game, he switched Ben onto their 7' plodding center who is averaging 5ppg. And to be honest, don't care too much about Ben's defense cause that's not what he was brought here for, he was brought here to make shots and shoot 3's at a high clip, which he was completely failed at.

And I'm sorry, but with the current effort this team is showing at the moment, I can live with a little gambling on defense if it means DGL and his intensity are on the court. We put DGL on a short leash because of defensive gambling, meanwhile Ben continues to get big minutes the entire first half of the season while letting point guards outrebound him?

Sorry but the math ain't mathin on this one.

bens bricks killed the momentum of the team and his +/- is inflated because of a 17 point lead due to KJ jake and MJ.

you're dumb to think this. We all know its gonna be Jake Davis for some reason. I completely agree with you, but Brad hasn't made many great decisions strategically this year.

I think the common misconception here is that they aren’t having conversations and talking to them about it….they are. It’s about doing it and being comfortable doing it.

That’s such a hard idea to process , taking into account human behavior and how it can be molded by positive and negative reinforcement.

It’s not like we are trying to rehab a drug addict.

I still say we work a trade with Nico and the Mavs before his acid trip ends.

I’m thinking Kyrie Irving and Dereck Lively for Tyler, Hamer, and an upside down Luke Goode jersey.

Their mental problems are reflected in a lack of basketball intelligence I'm afraid (at least in game). At around the 8:00 minute mark Saturday we had 28 2 point attempts & were hitting at a 72% clip. We had the same # of 3 attempts & were 7/28 for 25%. In a 2 point game at the time with those shooting stats someone with a little basketball intelligence would think let's push it inside & get the high % shot. Nope, out of that timeout, I think the next 5 or so shot attempts were 3's. I shut the tv off after that cause I knew the ending.

Man i hate to be a negative Nancy but this team is in a serious downturn and now losing our best rebounder and physical guy is a scary thought especially with the gauntlet we got laid out in front of us. Hopefully we can pull together as a team and win some games.but it has me doubting in the worse way even when we were semi healthy we dropped plenty of games we shouldn't have.Hopefully we chalk it up as growing pains and let's go on a roll #hail the chief ILL

Let's relax Morez is a huge loss right. Well the people in Vegas who know all don't buy it. We opened as a 4.5 point dog and now down to 3 at most places. Let's all take a deep breath.

Wisconsin is obviously playing great right now, but one tiny sliver of a silver lining is that we beat them back in December and Morez may have had his worst game of the season that night.

0 points and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes.

We are definitely not a better team without Morez and anyone saying otherwise is crazy, but this team has won against good teams without getting major contributions from Morez. He was pretty quiet in the Arkansas and Oregon wins. It's an uphill battle, but not impossible.
Yea but this time it's at there place and we're going to have to play tough and smart to win.idk if we can do both things let alone 1 of them but I'll say my hail marys and have faith
