It's incredibly obvious that there are some Illinois fans who were spoiled rotten by having Ayo, Trent, and Da'Monte over the past several years.

I suspect some of the same people who are calling this current roster soft were also upset when Trent and Da'Monte stuck around an extra year.
(insert)...aren't really Illini fans.

I hope coach benches a couple of the upperclassmen like Melendez, Co-Hawk, Shannon and give the freshman some real looks, perhaps show these suppose to be stars and future NBA players how to play the game with passion! I look for Missouri to beat us next week!
We are one game removed from beating the #2 team in the country and you want to bench the top players and rebuild? Sure glad you’re not the coach.

The message is the same as Underwood to team-SHOW UP EVERY FRIGGING GAME! PLAY HARD! Hawkins, Shannon and Melendez gave half a---sd effort.

BU is on a season long standard "" UM "" production of @ 15 upp (um's per presser) with 33 " UM's in his 2:20 monologue........I did notice a downturn in
effort and tone , probably due to an extra hard week of practice after the lackluster game against psu.......I am frankly very surprised in his still maintaining his average upp with everything surrounding the team and finals week and the holiday season at hand ......Let's hope BU can keep it going without hitting the proverbial " UM's " wall that occurs around this time each year.........Just some more examples of pru's dedication to explore some analytics on the fringe that others pass by..........

Have a , um , great day Illini Nation........................

What, really? Sounds awfully trollish, vinegar Ben. I’m surprised that any us would be so excited about being beat, particularly by Miznoz. Methinks Missouri miscreant among us.

In my frat at UIUC we used to count the "you knows," "likes," and "supers" as a drinking game

I would love to see us play as though we are determined to score on every single offensive possession, and to determined to stop them from scoring on every single defensive possession.

I expect that's exactly what we'll see for the first few minutes. It will be interesting to see how long we keep it up.
I think plenty of determination to score has been evident but there have been mixed results. I wish there was determination to get the best shot possible, even if it involves passing to a teammate.

I just checked in with Siri. She said her sources told her Illinois will win today by 31.5 points.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — There was a bad taste in Terrence Shannon Jr.‘s mouth after the team’s loss to Penn State.
It meant No. 18 Illinois (7-3, 0-2 Big Ten) had dropped its second-straight conference game, and it happened with a runaway loss to an unranked Nittany Lions team.
“After we lost I was just like, ‘Man, I can’t wait to play again,’” Shannon said. “Actually, I said I can’t wait to get to my next practice. I just can’t wait to get the taste out of our mouth from Penn State.”

Coach Brad Underwood was displeased and will be looking for a response when the Illini host Alabama A&M at 3 p.m. (Big Ten Network) on Saturday.

Pru... where does his UPPM stand v. the competition? Does a Torvik rating exist for this measure? Also, could you make this a tempo-free stat and adjust it for the alacrity of his speaking? Something like a UPPW (Ums Per Presser Word.) Am guessing that certain coaches might speak a bit more languidly or simply have a greater economy of expression. Also, is there an SOS component (i.e., the stiffer the competition the greater UPPW?) Now that you've mooted the metric, we need this stat normalized for all that.

Well done all 'round, though. :illinois: :ah:

I'm completely with you. And while he's at it, let's teach an indelible lesson here: bench the whole d&*n team and start me!

I've got all four years of eligibility remaining and, though I'm still a bit weak to my left off the dribble, and have shrunk at my age to barely 5'9", my wiles, next-level bounce pass skills, and peripheral vision make up for it. It's only 11 in DC and there's a flight via ORD out of National Airport that will get me to Champaign before tip if I leave for the airport within the next 10 minutes.

I know Alabama A&M never had much of a chance in this one, but I bet they are really going wish we hadn't just gotten completely embarrassed by Penn State today. Illini by 35.

That sounds like a lot of points, but they are really bad. If I use Kenpom, we should be favored by about 37. Actual line seems to be about 31.

Not sure how you're using Kenpom, but the predicted score on his page is 87-59. So Illini by 28.
