If we are going to go that route, we should combine them vertically and make the world's first 14-foot center.

Torvik currently projects Illinois as a 1 seed and Bama as a 4 seed. With this game being played at the UC, we could see this same matchup at this exact same location in the Sweet 16.
Hoping we play with the same win or go home mindset that we'll need if we do, in fact, meet again.
Also, random fact while I'm on the subject. If we do get a 1 seed, Underwood will be the first coach in our history with two 1 seeds.

A decent amount of positive movement for tickets in the lower bowl this morning, which is encouraging given they are the expensive ones ... leaves a sliver of hope for me that we'll get a nice bump of last-minute ticket buyers who help fill out some of the 300 section by buying the cheaper tickets up there. This is the updated ticket map as of a few minutes ago compared to the first time I screen shotted the website on October 24:

I have one meeting today at 1:00 pm, but then I am actually going to have a really slow day (long story short, I am transferring to the division of our company I have always wanted to work for on January 1, so things are getting slower, lol...) ... I just might try to truly go down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out what the attendance might look like. Still, we avoided the one "doomsday scenario" of a ton of empty seats on TV, and I think we will have enough in there to have the crowd actually provide us a home court advantage.
And also, let's remember to judge ourselves on a reasonable scale. Iowa trumpeted quite a bit last year about its full crowd for its game in Moline ... but that meant 8,488 tickets sold. A top 10 Michigan team just drew 7,362 in Detroit the other night, and we will likely double that at least. #11 Purdue hosted #17 Texas A&M last year on a Saturday in Indianapolis, and they drew 15,045 ... not only could we very possibly pass that for a Wednesday night game, but I would bet my life that we would shatter that attendance if the game were on a Saturday.

From a scheduling perspective it really does seem like this game should have been swapped with the LIU game but 'Bama probably wants to be in Vegas early.

It is more likely driven by networks than getting to Vegas early. The good channels will have football on Saturday.
Fox usually doesn't have a football night game though; that's usually a basketball timeslot for them.

Indiana vs Marquette at the UC drew 14,000. Hopefully we can at least beat that.
You Tyler haters should really try watching a basketball game that doesn't involve Illinois or your local HS team
The Hamer hate is completely valid because our defense took major steps back when he took over, but our offense has been top of the league every year since Tyler has taken it over.
