You Tyler haters should really try watching a basketball game that doesn't involve Illinois or your local HS team
Not sure if there are any "Tyler haters "here, nor does "being a bit nervous" equate to "hate". But taking something to an extreme is what to do on a message board.

What I will say is :
1) I am very happy with our Offense and by all accounts (Brad included) that Tyler has a heavy hand in that outcome. So he is doing well in his role and we are benefiting from his efforts. So we have landed in a good place with Tyler, his role, and the team's performance.

2) How Tyler got the job in the first place is where some people have some level of issue. I get it, his Dad is in position of power and therefore can provide opportunities to his son above others (both in form of making a team / playing time, and getting a coveted coaching slot immediately after college). We have seen this very issue play out negatively at our Beloved with the fan favorite Miles Smith and in many other instances across sports & business.

3) Tyler has some level of association previously (before Crocker) with why Hamer was so heavily involved in running our Defense, which did not perform well the past seasons.

So it's not a cut & dried thing with Tyler. Bottom line is that he has to overperform in order to quiet the critics of how he got his role in the first place.

If we can get 15 minutes out of Tomi and 20 out of Z, I like our chances.

Time to dust off the ole Hamer drop. Hug their shooters in the corners if they get dribble penetration make them finish over one of our 7 footers, with a rear contest by our bigger guards. If we can hold them under 30 3 pt attempts we’ve got a good shot at winning.

I also wish we had one more healthy guard. Even if Petro or Lee are good to go, neither have played a minute yet and it’s probably asking too much to throw them into a game that will be played this fast, even in spot minutes. This game isn’t a great fit for Jake, but hopefully he can hold his own for 15 minutes or so.

He's been doing that for a few years now and people still have things to say. Since taking over the offense, we've been 3rd, 14th and currently 3rd in KP ORtg.

All this while being paid like 115k... guy might be the best bargain assistant in the nation.

Off topic so remove if necessary...

But I have seen on here that Miles was essentially given carte blanche to recruit whoever he wanted....

On that same token, those recruiting years netted Spoon, Kerby Joseph, Newton, Brown brothers, Quan Martin, Isaiah Williams, Pat Bryant..and none were higher than a 3 star .

Maybe nepotism works? /s

🤣, he's winning me over slowly. Especially since he doesn't wear panty hose like Hamer.

A decent amount of positive movement for tickets in the lower bowl this morning, which is encouraging given they are the expensive ones ... leaves a sliver of hope for me that we'll get a nice bump of last-minute ticket buyers who help fill out some of the 300 section by buying the cheaper tickets up there. This is the updated ticket map as of a few minutes ago compared to the first time I screen shotted the website on October 24:

I have one meeting today at 1:00 pm, but then I am actually going to have a really slow day (long story short, I am transferring to the division of our company I have always wanted to work for on January 1, so things are getting slower, lol...) ... I just might try to truly go down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out what the attendance might look like. :ROFLMAO: Still, we avoided the one "doomsday scenario" of a ton of empty seats on TV, and I think we will have enough in there to have the crowd actually provide us a home court advantage.

And also, let's remember to judge ourselves on a reasonable scale. Iowa trumpeted quite a bit last year about its full crowd for its game in Moline ... but that meant 8,488 tickets sold. A top 10 Michigan team just drew 7,362 in Detroit the other night, and we will likely double that at least. #11 Purdue hosted #17 Texas A&M last year on a Saturday in Indianapolis, and they drew 15,045 ... not only could we very possibly pass that for a Wednesday night game, but I would bet my life that we would shatter that attendance if the game were on a Saturday.
Yes, we need FOTN with MORE time on his hands 😂

I’m tired of being the late game on the same station, separated by only 2 hours. Means we miss the first 10:00 of the 1st half. Why can’t they allow for a 2 1/2 hour game?

Wow, Michigan St. v. Kentucky, Big18 is gonna be a gauntlet of pain and suffering all year. I am Geeked out for our season. Please oh please, let us get healthy 🙏. 10-11 💪 strong, playing time and minutes will be Coaches toughest problem.
