Playing tonight and vs Duke is what’s good for the program. So much better than coaches being about to sit in a living room and tell recruits that they “got” a super talented player to the NBA.

Very true, but to turn this great (hopefully) season into something more we need to get one of these guys drafted at some point. I'm sure it doesn't help our recruiting that the last Illini drafted by the NBA is Meyers Leonard. Now if Ayo can lead this team to great things this year AND improve his draft stock that's a huge win/win.

Three of my five favorite basketball announcers of all time (along with Dick Enberg and Al McGuire)!!!!!!!

Collinsworth is top three all time for football along with Lindsey Nelson and Bob Tumpy (Tremont, IL).

Pre-Dukey V days, I loved Vitale. He was a huge fan of the game, but somewhere along the line, he became a huge ACC hack.

When it comes to the announcers, Dakich is the one that annoys me the most of those 3. Walton's tolerable if you can appreciate the "memeing", and for me, Dick Vitale (despite his ACC bias) is someone who defines college basketball.

Took me over a decade to suppress the urge to throw something at the tv every time he is on, but I've actually started to enjoy him calling a game or two each year.

Interesting................Baylor has never beaten us in basketball. We're 3-0 all time. Plus we spanked them in football the last time we played (the infamous RG3 game).

I guess we clearly hold the upper hand in both athletics and academics!
