I don’t know why we are playing such a sugar filled cupcake this late in the pre season. We can find more productive competition in our own gym with our own roster. As someone earlier pointed out, this team is so bad, no margin of victory is going to help our rankings in any poll. Students are out and who wants to pay to see a beat down?
Will and Ben need to see the ball go through the basket about 7 times each and this is the type of sugar to maximize that opportunity. This was a well.put together non - con schedule by Brad and Co. This game is coming at a perfect time. We have a legitimate West coast swing after tomorrow. Insane.

Illini are 40 point favorites...not sure I've seen many lines like that

Efrem mostly shot dunks.

I do sort of recall he gained some weight and that might have affected his vertical jump and quickness off the floor.
AS a senior, he had his best field goal and worst free throw percentages. He also took fewer shots.

Efrem is one of my most favorite Illini. I remember only how great he was, and this behind the back dunk that I saw in person. I even had the Converse shoes!

My vote: Good shooting = have confidence. Bad shooting = lack confidence. See Ben Humrichous + Ty Rodgers + DMFW. Optimistic that better days are ahead for BH and TR from long range. And yes Ty is my favorite current Illini!
Have not seen it mentioned but speed required to get the shot off is a factor I believe. Several years ago I had a chance to set close to the floor for a game in Champaign. As an old bball player I was amazed at how quickly they had to get the shot off. Coming from lesser completion there is more time to take the shot. With the increased athleticism of the opponents, shooters do not have as much time to set up and shoot. It may also work on them mentally once they have a few close calls. Rushing the shot just a bit can have a big effect. Just my opinion.
