Went to the ESPN website for Colgate - first game of the season they went to Mich St and only lost by 11.
So, I checked out the highlights video, and... all the highlights are of MSU plays!!
Colgate did not look very good and they looked small.
And yet, they only lost by 11 at MSU. Strange.

Michigan State shot poorly from the field and missed 13 free throws (and Colgate shot nearly 50% for the game)

Why are they being so vague about Tomi's injury and the timeline?
If it's a knee sprain, it's just hard to predict when he'll be back - the treatment is rest and ice etc. it will just depend on when he can play without pain and there is always a risk of reinjury and to Brad's point, he'll need to build up stamina again. So, in this case I don't think Brad is being coy - he just literally doesn't know when he'll be available

I hope Tomi is held out an extra period of time after he is "ok".
I just want to be sure he truly is 100%, and not at risk of a relapse.
I am guessing that's what they did with Andrej, and boy it sure seemed to work!
Another benefit of having the depth we do.

Going by Torvik, Colgate will be the weakest team Illinois has played yet this season. However, they also beat Drexel, lost a coin flip with Northeastern, and lost to MSU by 11, so if they could win by 50 again that'd be fun.

And no kissing anyone during that period. Lifetime immunity, whatever, let's not take any chances. ;)

Just make sure he is available for Miznoz

Since none have seen Petrovic play, how has he performed in the few practices? Has anyone heard how he has fit with this team and if he is expected to...in fact....add to the ceiling.

From what I have seen of Boz, Wagler, and Stojakovic, it will be hard for him to take a spot in the starting lineup as was projected by so many as late as Oct. before the injury. But if he does, whoa Nellie as Keith Jackson used to say. I would not expect him to get more than 20 min from the bench unless he can really defend, and his film on this site does not suggest that. But then I have seen with my own eyes that a kid whom some projected as "unplayable" is really extremely talented at both ends of the floor....so who knows?

I'm really hoping to see Petrovic play some point. Unfortunately I won't get to "see" any games on Peacock. S**t. I don't mind a whole lot for these early season non-conf. games. But right in the middle of the B1G season against storied histtory like the Ohio State game? Come on.

That lull the Illinois offense had from around the 16 min timeout to around the 12 min timeout when Texas Tech went on the run to close the 10ish point gap and take the lead could have really used a better lead guard to get the offense out of a funk. It was a lot of missed jump shots from Mirk, Wagler, and Kylan where they were trying to do a little too much 1 on 1 (then the offense took off when Stojakavic just did the same thing but couldn't miss).

As to who starts, don't think it really matters. He'll get 20-25+ minutes whenever rolls shake out most likely. Davis will shift back spot minutes, Humrichous will probably see his minutes go down a little (depending on matchups), Boswell can't play 38 minutes a game, Wagler doesn't need 35, etc.

Sorry, but I am going to push back on this whenever I see it. No one, absolutely no one said AS was unplayable. The original poster asked the question, “Playable?”. He or she never said AS was unplayable. The implication may have been there, but the poster never said it. And no one else did either. This is starting to become an urban myth. I expect it to show up on Snopes soon.
