Illini not underestimating Drexel in NCAA Tournament first-round matchup
Drexel is led by junior Camren Wynter, who is averaging 16.8 points.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — For senior guard Trent Frazier, there is no way the No. 2 nationally ranked and No. 1-seeded Illinois men’s basketball team is going to underestimate Drexel in its NCAA Tournament first-round game on Friday.
“March Madness is a unique tournament, and you see upsets every night. I don’t think you can look at seed numbers when you are in this tournament,” Frazier said. “There are buzzer beaters, close games, upsets. That’s what it is all about. You have to go into the games and not worry about what number they are. That’s not going to matter.

None of these 68 teams are awful. They've all at least won a division 1 conference tournament or similar.
But there is no situation where we lose to Drexel without either getting caught in the COVID protocol or just massively s**tting the bed. We are taller, faster, and better at every position AND we've shown throughout the season that we play as a team.
In short, this game is losable by the Illini, but it really shouldn't be winnable for Drexel. The ball is literally in our court.
I hope that all our scholarship guys get to see the floor. Love Tyler but if you recruited me and your son got to see the floor when we won the CHAMPIONSHIP but I didn't I would be disappointed.
Agreed. It’s a non issue. There are professional teams (Bulls) that play every home game over ice.
I'm actually heading into the office to watch the games. Just for the social aspect of it all.
