I think the defense will pleasantly surprise us this week by not missing as many tackles - at least I hope so.

I didn't realize it was possible not to know who Jim Cornelison is. Pass the giardiniera.
As long as we’re hijacking this topic asking “who?” regarding opera singers, I have a question regarding an alumnus who performed at a football game about 20 years ago.
The alumnus was about 80 and forgot the words to an important song like the national anthem or loyalty. He re-started and forgot the words again. On his third attempt the band started singing with him and saved the day.
That was an extremely touching moment and I don’t remember which game it was or who the opera singer was. Was anyone from this forum there?
BTW IL 31 DU 20

Fun trivia, he also sings "back home again in Indiana" at the Indy 500 after the passing of Jim Nabors
I was there but - do I remember....- the guy that played Li'l Abner - Peter Palmer???
For some reason I remember Li'l Abner being associated with that day but could be getting my games mixed up. It happens often.
It will be closer than it should be...

Obviously @IlliniKat91. Jim Cornelison sings one of the best, most powerful, amazing and moving renditions of the National Anthem I’ve ever heard. Watching him sing it on TV is awesome, but listening to him sing it in person is unforgettable…

but John Vincent, who sang it before game 4 of the 2016 World Series, is my favorite
*When the fan base discovers some are from the area of the state South of Joliet and West of Aurora
(/meant in good fun! Love Chicagoland and am excited to hear him sing!)
Wayne Messmer came to my high school symphonic band concert in ~2005 to narrate Aaron Copeland's "Lincoln Portrait". completely forgot about it until you threw his name out there
Google set me straight.. it was actually 2004. Guess my memory is gone too

Definitely never heard of him either. I don't think most people are keeping track of national anthem singers around sports.
I don't want giardia. I filter stream water before I drink it to avoid it.
Yes! If you haven't heard him live, make sure you don't miss it on Saturday. Especially with this being the 25th anniversary of 9/11. I'm predicting chills and a few tears all around.Obviously @IlliniKat91. Jim Cornelison sings one of the best, most powerful, amazing and moving renditions of the National Anthem I’ve ever heard. I once caught ghiardinirea during a crazy spring break in Mexico. Penicillin took care of it
