Didnā€™t Washington have a really really good guard?
I think
Justin Dentmon
I believe Bigguns was right. The guy Iā€™m remembering is Brandon Roy. Kind of a big guard who always seemed to be in control and playing at a different level. Another player that broke my heart was Georgia Tech guard Mark Price in 1985. Totally different player than Roy but still managed to ruin Spring for me. Iā€™d never heard of him but damn he could shoot it. Guessing Kentucky fans must be feeling the same way about that Gohlke guy from Oakland.

How do you not remember Brandon Roy. He should be obvious. Thatā€™s why we mentioned Dentmon. Had nothing to do with him being right.

Roy was a legitimate superstar in the NBA until his knees fell apart.

It was a tough draw and a close game(67-64). That's the way the tourney goes sometimes.

Duquense with 7 blocks and 7 steals verses BYU. Tough defense. They get in their opponent's grill. Very aggressive.

So Brad needs to know they go to Pizza Hut...
that should get adrenaline flowing And our fighting spirit up, right..?
I feel like they want to try and punk the Illini! Punch us in the mouth so to speak, but I feel confident they donā€™t know what they are in for.

I think Illini stay focused on the Dukes. Another inside out game with Marcus, TJS, Hawkins inside to Dain-Illini 83-70

Someone said that DU's small, quick guards would hurt us with steals. I'm not afraid of that whatsoever. Let the Dukes worry about our taller, stronger guards . Shannon, Domask and Rodgers are all strong with the ball.

Serious question: What does the term ā€œto punkā€ mean in basketball? Is it as simple as ā€œto play defense aggressively?ā€

watched the second half of the Morehead State game again. our defense was at another level, the best defensive effort iā€™ve seen out of us this season since Missouri. if our defense is finally coming aroundā€¦

Get up in our face defensively, extra banging, hard fouls, slamming into the lane with the dribble drive. Yelling in our face when they score with mean mugs and pushing us around saying we are softie.

Well Domask usually gets picked once or twice a game against defenses with quick hands on ball. So, thereā€™s that.

Agreed. I think my biggest concern going into tonight is on-ball pressure on Domask, but I also think the amount of pressure and doubles necessary to do this can't typically be sustained for 40 minutes. I look for them to go all-out on it early to hang in the game or even take the lead, but Illinois's conditioning wins out yet again to pull away in the 2nd half to not only win, but cover yet again.
