As a gall bladderless individual, I can confirm this assessment. Hopefully, both things allow him to heal fully. He can't rush the foot injury and come back too soon, one would presume, so this might be a blessing in some level of disguise.
I had the gallbladder surgery a month shy of my 45th birthday. They rolled me out of the OR at 4:30 pm and my first words to the nurse as I woke up rolling on the gurney was “pain.” Morphine and ice chips ensued.

Then I walked out the front door of the hospital less than two hours later. Arthroscopic surgery is miraculous. Morphine is, too. ;)

It’s likely Mirk is back for UConn after this surgery if his foot is good. I hate to be that guy but I doubt his foot will be good.

I think returning for the UConn game is possible from an ability perspective. But, I don't think returning for such a high level game so soon would be wise from a health and/or a season advantage/disadvantage perspective.

Agree practically and philosophically. At 45 I was lifting within six weeks. He’ll heal more quickly. Without the appendectomy my assumption about the foot was that we’d have him for Braggin’ Rights, and no earlier.

The foot bones are the worst body parts to break. Non-lethally of course ( eg neck or skull.)

Mirk’s one more injury away from being this guy.

Line has already moved down 2 points fron what I've seen. Makes sense given Mirkovic is out and LW is questionable.
Betting lines like this are incredibly tough to win. I've tried it in the NCAA Tournament in the 1/16 and 2/15 games to keep them interesting. The favorite covers very few times. Guys like Fagbemi get a lot of minutes and 47 point leads and up in a 38 points win, which is rough.

Exactly. It won't be the appendectomy that keeps him out. It's the foot. Nothing has changed with the main issue(basketball related).
100% this is dead on as long as the procedure was laparoscopic and it was not a rupture. Son did it less than a year ago 5 days he was up doing very well.

I have had a laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in my early 30’s (similar procedure), I was back playing USTA competitive (4.0) tennis is less than 2 weeks?

The foot, it is so damn hard to tell with BU, he loves the cloak and dagger effect with injuries? I know you have your “inside” have we ever even found out what bone or bones were broken and what procedure was even done?

The appendectomy is tough for BU to cast shadow on as it is just so routine. The foot? Hell I have no idea what was even done to it?

Recovery times have also been reduced when they use robots to do the surgeries. I just had a hernia surgery using a DaVinci robot. It is more precise and cut my Recovery time in half.

Not ideal at all, but this isn't expected to have much of an impact timeline wise. Mirk is very frustrated though and will be working to get back.

Keeping hearing the target date of either the week before or after UConn.
As a selfish fan who will be at the UC, saw the Final Four loss in person last year and really wants to stop losing to UConn … REALLY hoping for the week before! 🤣

That would be an absolutely miraculous recovery. They game is to a little more than a month away. I can't believe the season starts tomorrow. 4 to 5 weeks given where things currently are, especially the foot.....man, that sure seems like a wild stretch UNLESS the boot is off. If that is that thing is still on, I'm just not seeing the realistic nature of that timetable.

That said, you are MUCH more in the know than the rest of us. I like what you're selling a LOT more than what I'm thinking, so I'll roll with you.

I think that most of us are at that spot mentally. Before this latest issue, he was still in a boot. Not sure if that's off yet? That game is a little more than 4 weeks away. Unless he's up and around, this week, with no boot..... I'm just hoping there are no more issues where the boot goes on again.

I think there is a good chance of it? I was there with you at the Final 4 and in Boston for the E8 game. I am tired of losing to UConn

So sorry for all of Mirk's medical woes. He must be terribly frustrated. The sooner the better for his return. As for tonight's game, no worries, but we have games on the horizon where his presence could be a game changer.
