I will say, FGCU's dunk city sweet 16 run was some of the most enjoyable tournament ball I've seen that didn't involve my rooting interests.
I live in Ft. Myers/Naples it was a really fun team to watch. This team is produced to win the Asun, so I would think they would be a “decent” team? They can’t play Illinois, but let’s hope for more competition than last night?

2025-26 Men's Basketball Preseason All-ASUN Team: No one from FGCU

I expect Andrej to play this one and get some minutes.

Plan with Petrovic is to practice a little bit and see how it reacts this week-he's gotten better though. COULD play some minutes against Tech.

I think Lee has a good chance to be back by the end of the month.
Adjusting the orange filter: Andrej is likely to get some minutes Friday against FGCU, but limited ones. Petrovic likely won't play for the next 10 days. Lee likely out until December.

My take: until these guys are back (or fully back), there is significant opportunity for several other players to contribute. This may ultimately benefit the team. But for the coming couple of months, things are likely going to look bumpy and not be predictive of play in mid-conference and later.

Really good insight as to why he is ok with taking a ton of 3s
If you shoot 30% from 3, but rebound 43% of your misses (like Brad mentions in the video) and then after you rebound, you score from 2 at 54.5% (the NCAA average last year), your points per possession would be 1.23, which is equivalent to shooting 41% from 3 and not rebounding your misses.

Which is why we could shoot as bad as we did last year (30% from 3 in conference play), yet still have the #14 ranked offense in the nation in KenPom.

If you shoot well from 3 *and* rebound your misses, you have a top 3 offense in the country like we do now.

What's weird to me is that Illinois is literally the only high major game on FGCU's schedule this year.
Normally, those ASun-type teams are loading up on buy games right now.

Born and raised in Champaign, been an Illini fan my entire life. Graduated from FGCU.

Illinois 95
FGCU 63

Pretty cool story about one of FGCUs' walk-ons. Barstool Sports
I’ve been watching this guy since the first video and it’s so funny. I thought “of course he hits his first shot right before playing Illinois”

Keep the team out of my yard. There are thousands of black walnuts laying around.
