If you shoot 30% from 3, but rebound 43% of your misses (like Brad mentions in the video) and then after you rebound, you score from 2 at 54.5% (the NCAA average last year), your points per possession would be 1.23, which is equivalent to shooting 41% from 3 and not rebounding your misses.
Which is why we could shoot as bad as we did last year (30% from 3 in conference play), yet still have the #14 ranked offense in the nation in KenPom.
If you shoot well from 3 *and* rebound your misses, you have a top 3 offense in the country like we do now.
