With Trent, I like our chances.

I hope we have him, but with Norvell and a senior experienced guard....they are ranked #3 for a reason...they are way above us in Bigs also...dont see it going well. 90-74.

It's early, but we are a different team with Trent. I think we give them a game. Adonis also will be one game farther along....... #IMWITHKATHY

This might be closer than we think with Tillie out for the Zags. That’s IF Trent is able to play and is healthy.

I live in Spokane so watch the Zags quite a bit. Their front court is definitely one of the most athletic in the country with Rui Hachimura and Brandon Clarke. We will have no answer for them. Their passing is crazy good and all 5 starters can create their own shots or assists. Great team and probably one of the best I’ve seen the 20 years I have been here.

Our guard play will have to make up for a lot of deficits. Zags handle ball pressure well and usually find open man for easy dunks. Zags guards very good with seasoned Josh Perkins (sr) and Zach Norvell (so from Chicago Simeon).

Hoping for the impossible always. Go Illini!

It would need to be a perfect storm of everyone being on fire from beyond the arc and them missing easy shots for us to win. If we stay competitive and keep it within 10 I’ll be happy.

Bill Walton? I usually reserve my acid trips for the weekend, but I suppose I can make an exception this time.

Trent is an amazing player. It seems many on this board undervalue him as much as the B1G media does. Let's talk after Maui. #IMWITHKATHY

We are getting better but this one is a poor matchup. Gonzaga is stacked. Would take a 20-30 from 3 type of game to hang in there.

Anyone know how long concussion protocol typically lasts? I know it varies due to symptoms. Just wondering if Trent has a chance to play in Maui at all.

You generally have to be symptom free for a certain amount of time. Then you have checkpoints you have to go through and remain symptom free. Each check point is generally 1 day.

Gonzaga plays Texas A&M tomorrow FYI.

With this style of play we always have a chance. It's impossible for opponents to replicate the speed and pressure of our defense in practice. Some teams do fine against it, some struggle. Hopefully Gonzaga struggles.

Thanks. I hope Trent recovers quickly. For his health and for the sake of the team.

Competitive...that's pretty much all we can hope for. However, if Trent is back, I don't think we'll go O'fer in Maui.

Without Trent, we lose by 20+. With Trent I still think we lose this one, but it'll be a lot more confidence inspiring. I would think a week will be long enough, but I don't want him playing if he's not ready.

If Illinois doesn't start guarding the ball better - Gonzaga will score 110 while shooting 60+% from the field. Illinois is fun to watch, but it will be a long year if they don't clean up their individual and team defensive rotations.
