I love Dakich in any game that doesn't involve his lovechild IU. He will be a complete Indiana Homer in this one, and you heard it here first

I've heard him be plenty critical of IU in games. He definitely didn't seem to be favoring them when purdue made a comeback in their game last Saturday

Dakich is a polarizing guy, which may be part of his professional shtick. I happen to like him, because he does not hesitate for a second to point out incompetence by the officiating crew. Some commentators appear to be more hesitant to do that, even when it's obvious.

Yeah i don't think he's a homer. But with IU and his son playing at Michigan, he's just a lot more connected to those teams than others so he sometimes talks in a lot more detail about those 2 teams. When IU and Michigan are playing really well, Dakich gets a bit frustrating. But he will be the first one to criticize them if they're playing poorly.

We get the win, Groce cools off his seat.

Illini 80 - Indiana 78

We shoot lights out and stay even on the glass. Yogi has a bad game.

Time to get back to defending our home court!

We are no match for Indiana. But we are due for a little luck sometime and this would be a great time for that to happen. Go Illini!

From living in Indy before, I can vouch for the fact that Dakich isn't that bad. He has a mid-day radio show in Indianapolis during the week and takes calls from delusional IU and Purdue fans during (and even not during) basketball fans talking about how great their teams are. Anyone would have a tough time dealing with those fan bases on a daily basis.

Living here I listen to him daily and totally agree. THe Purdue fanbase regularly lambasts him for being a homer for IU while the IU fanbase accuses him of being butt hurt over not getting the HC job and call him an IU hater. He can't really win. I like his lack of filter and holding players accountable while praising those who deserve it.

I agree...he also points out a teams flaws.I'm one of the few who look forward to listening to him call a game.He says what he thinks.
