How good does that Wiscy loss in btt quarters seem now? The extra few days rest seems to have e given this team a bounce in its step.
My neighbors on one side both went to Iowa and have their Iowa flag out now. One of my neighbors on the other side went to Michigan and he has his Michigan flag out now.
My wife and I both got 2 degrees from Illinois and our daughter is a student at Illinois. We win in degree count and our Illinois flag is ALWAYS out.

One of my sons has said for several years if we ever win it all it will be a year where we are a bit off the radar. Not the favorite but capable. Starting to hope and wanting to believe it can be now.
I think there are going to be a LOT of tickets hitting the secondary market tomorrow. There were a ton of houston and nebraska fans. And the nebraska fans cleared out once they lost.
I was able to move down quite a bit, and was 5 rows behind the band member with the orange hair.
And our little group in section 126 got a bunch of ILL-INI chants going with the illini fan section. It was a blast!!!!

According to Torvik, we now have the 2nd best odds to win it all and we’re the favorite to make the F4 and the championship game:
I love that Michigan has to go through the top of the Big 12 and a hot Bama. Duke has to go thru a StJ’s team (that owns the season series vs. UConn) then one of MSU (Izzo’s teams are tough outs in March) or freakin UConn (the #1 program and coach in the game this decade).
You just have to hope these big boys (Duke, Zona/Michigan) get worn down by their tougher paths.
We’ve won all 3 games by double digit margins and next play Iowa. I’d much rather face UConn or MSU in the Final Four just based on the personnel. I think we finally have the length/skills and UConn doesn’t have Clingan/Castle. We were lacking Boz and were 1 defensive rebound away from a win at Breslin.
Wish list:
- Duke gets knocked off by someone
- Iowa State knocks off Michigan and Arizona
That is our best possible path.
