A trip to the Final Four is at stake tonight............A chance to advance to another rung in our 1 game at a time season quest......I truly believe this is a special team with an EDG mentality of doing WHATEVER is needed to reach the next level of this NCAA Tournament.......

One Man Fast Break
Watched the Iowa-Florida game in full this morning. Realized I had probably seen none of the first half and start of the second due to overlapping schedules with the end of the Kansas-St. John’s game and the Virginia-Tennessee game. Biggest takeaway is that on paper, Florida should have absolutely dominated inside but Iowa was just a lot tougher and grittier. Hopefully a big takeaway for Brad and company. Size advantage can be negated if they just want it more. Don’t let them want it more today.

Keaton is actually 8th on the list. And, Keaton, of course, is leading or close to the top in a number of Freshman records. He needs 2 three pointers to tie Cory Bradford for 2nd most by a Freshman in a season and 4 to tie JCL. He already has the most points, highest scoring average, most free throws made & attempts, most field goals and probably more. I really think it is no contest that he has had the best Freshman season at Illinois of all time.

If you sort Torvik by tournament only, Quad 1 games - for us, this would be VCU & Houston - we’re #1 overall with the #1 ranked defense.

Hmm, Iowa has more quad 1 wins than us -- that could bump them up a seed line in the committee's eyes...

Iowa has their two best wins of the whole season within this week and their other tournament win is their sixth best win of their season. Playing their best ball at the best time.

Morning, Illini fans! How is everyone feeling about tonight’s game? I’m just as nervous about this one as I was about the Houston game. Worried that Iowa will play balls out with house money. Illini Nation really needs this win. It’s been far too long.

Mine nerves are on par with how I felt during the Houston game when we were missing free throws. There was a feeling down deep that we would hold on and win, but the nervousness on the surface wondering if we would actually choke this away. I wasnt alone as 1 guy stated 'there is less than a minute to play and we are up 9, this should not be this stressful'. He was answered with 'you watch enough Illinois basketball it is'. We are better than Iowa and should win, but you watch enough Illinois basketball...
