Illini are back baby!!All four picks on GameDay went for Illinois. These are weird times.
You are a complete team player and that's the naked truth...................it really really is ...................Promised my buddy I’d streak past his house if our Illini beat his Hawkeyes. I’m fat & pale, but totally worth it if we go 5-1 & beat Iowa.
Much thanks!!!What fun! The Illiniwalk is usually approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff so I’d be in Grange Grove by 4 at the latest. There should be a great, amped-up crowd for the team’s march along the sidewalk. The Marching Illini will be playing on the steps to the Stadium. If you start out at Murphy’s or Legends for lunch, hit the GameDay store, and then take a walk to the stadium, you should get much of the experience. Not sure the GG beer tent is still there, but just walking around Grange Grove and the tailgate lot directly across the street to the west is fun. The basketball team usually has a tent set up close to the street. Not sure if they’re signing autographs again. Make sure you bring extra warm coats, hats, gloves, and a blanket to sit on. It’s going to be cold…

I'm Cardinals, wife is Sox, and was gifted the signed Mantle. Yes, we definitely hate the Cubs. I have to ride 2.5 hours this afternoon with a Cubs and Iowa fan. The epitome of brutality.^ Is your baseball allegiance simply, “I REALLY hate the Cubs”?
Love the jacket!
College Game Day just picked us to win across the board.

My first year was 1966 and yes, this game was only about 40 years before that. It has been almost 60 years since my freshman year. No wonder there are more changes between then and the earlier then, than between then and now.Howard Griffith --- 8 TDs v. SIU in 1990 is in the ballpark, tho' v. inferior competition c/w Michigan.
[EDIT: Ah.. I see @SuperintendentChalmers noted that feat, too.]
Thanks for posting that video. Really enjoyed it. Had never seen anything but stills from that period. I note the parade ground across Peabody Drive... huge empty field back then, site of Gregory Drive and Peabody Drive Halls by 1960 (the latter my home for four years looking straight down through MS to the Hall.)
Let’s hope Texas rolling so far doesn’t portend your other hopes not coming to fruition. An Illini win, a Longhorn loss, a Cowboy and Bear win tomorrow and I am a happy camper.
That is awesome man! I hope you guys have a great time tonight. Will do. I (‘70), my wife (‘70), sister (‘75), and her husband (Stanford ‘75, but wearing Orange today), will be there and loud. I hope we’ll teach him the lyrics to Oskee-wow-wow by the end of the game.
