Shannon has faced TJ's defense before while at TTech. He scored 4. Granted he was a Sophomore. He didn't play in both matchups that season. The defensive scheme was pretty much the same that year, our guys just execute it better this year.
Or Maybe your D was getting absolutely crushed, and he didnt need to score that much? See below if you need a refresher on how good the D was, gave up 91 then 81. Second game TSJ had 12 and four other guys on TT scored in double figures.

And I think that is fine, and I empathize with that. However, what I read on your board was a total contempt and disrespect, mostly coming from breathtaking ignorance, for not just our team, but our program, fan base and state in general. These claims would be similar to me saying Drake had more fans in Des Moines than Iowa State, I didn't even know ISU had fans, that there were no ISU fans outside of Ames, that Illinois had a larger following in Des Moines than ISU, etc. Lol, I mean it's just like making stuff up to spite a team (Illinois) you have next to no history or animosity with??
yes some of the takes I read were laughable. someone said they had lived in Chicago for 14 years and the Iowa state fans there were more passionate than the illini fans and that they doubt there will be more illini fans than ISU fans in Boston. obviously that person must not get out much. another said Chicago only cares about pro sports and notre dame. as for the fanbase talk, if I'm not mistaken UIUC has one largest alumni bases in the nation. there is no dearth of illini fans and they travel extremely well

Illinois, Alabama, Texas A&M, Creighton and Tennessee all play 9:30ish to 10:30ish local times.
SD ST and Ariz. play 4:09-4:39 local time. 7 of the 16 play at terrible times for the fans so that
Duke, UNC and Conn. get prime time. We know who CBS is rooting for.

Or, and hear me out Cyclone fans, fans seek each other out and ISU fans wouldn't run into Illini fans at their local ISU bar. Just a theory.

Check your seasons. You’re looking at 20-21 season. Steve Prohm’s final season 2-22 record. The next season was TJ’s first season and we beat Tech 51-47 in Ames then lost there.

My biggest fear in this game is Iowa State's got this big guy called Ward. He sets the best pick and roll SCREENS. I've seen all season. And it opens up their entire guard play and they're easy rebounds and put backs. We've got to freaking gameplan against Ward's pick and rolls. Period
Hasn't been our strong suit this year.

I like that we're the 2nd game. In our 5 postseason games this season, we've been game 2 of a session 3/5 times — including both Omaha games. Iowa State was game 1 both times in Omaha. Ergo, we're more used to the "game 2" flow, so minor advantage to us.
What are the chances that the game actually starts on time.

This! No lies though, I grew up a Hawk fan. I was a freshman at Iowa State when BJ Armstrong, Roy Marble, Ed Horton, Kevin Gamble were playing. I rooted for that team, but then fell in love with Hilton Coliseum. Some of the Big 8 matchups with Kansas and Oklahoma State, Missouri were just awesome. The Johnny Orr days were really fun as a Cyclone! Can't stand the Hawks at all these days...

Probably nil - but none of the other sessions have had game 2 start on time either, that's kind of my point. We've had 3 games in our last 4 to get used to that flow, while Iowa State just played as the first game in their session twice in a row.

It's bizarre to me to grow up as a fan of a team and then transition to a rival.

Johnny Orr played at my High School, before my time, but I always loved looking at the pics and trophies in the display case by the gym.... Taylorville Tornadoes!

Hopefully the guys are adjusting their sleep schedules a bit. Especially anyone like TSJ who is used to getting up at 4:30 to get to the gym - I’m guessing he’s normally in bed by the time this game is scheduled to start.
That will be just getting up early for him.
