what is that? 5OTs in the last couple of games? I would probably just give the players time off until shoot around on Sunday.

This will be my first game at SFC since I graduated 2 years ago. Please make it competitive at least. I really hope Finke and/or Thorne return, because I have a hard time seeing us winning without them.

That's a winner!!
OH
Probably going to give up 100 again, don't see us scoring 80 though.

Hate to acknowledge this, but Iowa is rated #1 on Ken Pom and #5 on Sagarin.
I'm hoping that we get Finke back, play hard wire to wire and keep it under 10 points.
Wishing for more, but glad that the team is competing every night out.
This is all development for next year at this point. Including the spirit to gut it out.
Go :illinois:

On paper, this looks like a good time slot to get the Super Bowl snacks ready. Hoping this is a game Iowa overlooks since their next game is against Indiana for the conference lead. Unfortunately, unless they overlook us to the point where they forget to make the trip to Champaign, this don't look good.

We'll have a tough time winning with both of them.

And that's not a knock on us. Iowa is damn good, I thought they would be a terrible matchup for us even earlier in the season when I expected to have our players back from injury.

Might lead to my divorce. My wife (Iowa Fan) like to talk a lot of crap. She might be sleeping on the couch.

Yep, they are a very experienced team and Uthoff is having a national POTY type season. I imagine Malcolm will try to guard him, but that's a really tough assignment. Gesell isn't a great PG, but he's pretty good and very aggressive, which again is not something we've defended very well.

Oh, and they rebound the ball really well and make nearly 40% of their 3s.

My hope is that its Iowa's trap game. Have Indiana on the schedule next. Super bowl Sunday. Perfect for the John Groce game plan to perfection to knock off a top ranked team at home kind of day.

Their strengths match our weaknesses. Good 3pt shooting team with three guys that love to drive to the hoop.

I don't see a win here, though maybe we surprise and keep it close

I don't see a win either. But a change of pace is needed in the thread. No fun reading 10 pages of pregame saying "I don't see a win here" Iowa hasn't played a bad game yet. Hope its Sunday.

If there's one game on the schedule I want us to win, it would always be against Iowa. A win would be sooooo sweet. Screw it...Illini 75 Iowa 52.
