KenPom rankings for the 3 seeds remaining

9 Texas Tech
10 Iowa State
13 Wisconsin
17 Kentucky

KenPom rankings for the 6 seeds remaining:

16 Illinois
24 BYU
26 Ole Miss

This is a match up between the lowest rated 3 seed and the highest rated 6 seed. The only remaining match up where the lower seed is ranked higher on KenPom.
In committee-seeding language, 4-4 vs. 5-1 :)

Wait, what was the red liquid on Tomi's face and hand, and how did it get there?

Is there anyway to carry that energy over to the Krush next season? The sheer amount of arm crossing/standing still over the last 15 years has been very frustrating! It's time to show the blue bloods that their main advantage is gone...

I honestly didn't realize that this will be the first time in my lifetime that the Illini will play Kentucky. I grew up hearing about the '84 game from my dad, who was a student at U of I at the time, and it always just seemed so crazy to me that they'd had homecourt advantage. To be playing them again, 1 day shy of 41 years later...pretty incredible chance to do something truly special!

I remember that game well. Ky got to play in their own arena. That really sucked. And Efrem was playing on an ankle so badly sprained he could hardly walk. He probably had a ton of cortisone. And we still damn near beat 'em. All those who watched were in agreement: play them on a neutral site with a healthy Efrem and the outcome would probably have been different. Which, by the way would have put us in the FF.

Agreed. I think the best thing about Tre (besides his length and athleticism) is he never forces shots. He only takes what the game brings; as Lou Henson always said, "You have to let the game come to you."

Officials stay in their same locations for each weekend. We will get the three officials who graded highest from the afternoon seasion in Milwaukee on Sunday.

My concern with bowl games and the NCAA tournament is when you get an official or a crew that hasn’t worked a game at a level like Illinois-Kentucky and the moment overwhelms them. In football, I always cringe when a Sun Belt crew works a game like the Alamo Bowl when you have two power conference teams. If you get some mid-major official on the crew for Illinois-Kentucky, that’s when I would start to get nervous.

Tighten up the D, make 40% of our 3s and 95% of FTs, hold the turnovers to 7 and we win, guaranteed.

now we know what it’s like for Duke & UNC to almost always play first weekend games in a town within 200 miles from campus

I know, I know, wrong forum, but with all the emphasis on MBB, how many know that the Illini women have one 1st team All Big, one 2nd team, a number 8 seed in the NCAA and play Creighton tonight.

Congratulations to the ladies.Great year for you and your coaching staff.

I'm happy we played good, but not lights out. Seems like every time we played lights out this season, we have a stinker the next game.

Ben H is the epitome of that. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn yesterday. So i expect him to go 4-7 in this one!!

The boy that was mimicking the free throws last night was just awesome. March Madness at its best!
The kid is good luck, hope is back at the game tomorrow.
Ill be wearing the same illini gear worn last night, unwashed. I messed up in 21 and put my chief hoody in the wash during the tourney. Never again. Sorry everyone. I broke out said hoody last night for the first time since 21.
