Most people buy season tickets to go to the games and not sell half of them…
Respectfully disagree, at least as relates to Chicago-area fans and alumni. I am not a season ticket holder, but know some folks who are. As much as we and they love the Illini, they are not making 15 trips a year to Champaign. They go to a few, sell what they can (often to me), and eat the rest.

I’d also, like to see less cupcakes rather than more; 2-3 sounds plenty good to me.

I see absolutely no reason why a Bradley or a SIU Carbondale, or even ISU wouldn’t be an improvement over juggernauts like Monmouth or UMKC. (most years that is)

We did throw a bone to Eastern and Quincy in the exhibition…so that already satisfies the local cupcakes theme somewhat I guess. Hell, how about Loyola? I hear they stink. ;)
Nah.

You should see what he says to RJ behind closed doors lol.
Rj has been incredibly soft which is a suprise to me. Weak turnovers , weak defense and generally not tough and active enough. I do not remember this version of RJ last year.

Luke and RJ were two of my favorite players last year.
You have the talent RJ, let's see it.

RJ needs to press the Turbo Button and just GO!!

I'm excited to see the offensive evolution. I'm looking for the 3pt rate to come down in exchange for some efficient 2pt looks around the rim, mainly because we will get Dain the ball more and our guards are will get better at getting downhill. I also think we will start connecting on the backdoor cuts a little better, and we have quite a few guys that can get some post touches other than Dain. Hawkins, Mayer, TSJ, and RJ could all do work down there with certain matchups. And if we want to get really greedy, maybe we start seeing the bulldog Rogers down in the post a little bit.
Yeah its crazy the amount of talent and different line ups we can run. Definitely a good problem to have imho. I too am very excited to see how this Illini team progresses thru out the season. We are already pretty damn impressive as it is and its only Thanksgiving!

btw Happy Thanksgiving folks! Enjoy it with your family & friends (unless of course your family & friends are made up of Iowa or IU fans...or Satan)

You may see RJ out of the starting lineup here soon.
I love RJ, but I wish he was sixth man from the start of the season, with Ty in the starting line-up. Maybe that was the plan with Coach BU alluding to Goode being a penciled in starter. RJ seems to be better suited as a spark off the bench, as we saw last year.

If I were to guess….Dain would be going into the starting lineup and just roll with the Big lineup to start the game.

As a season ticket holder, I feel that I am paying to see 10 B1G games. Except for the Sycruase game, I could not sell my non-conference tickets and had a hard time giving them away. I am considering giving up my season tickets and buying single-game tickets when the tickets go on sale to IFUND members. Even some of the B1G games are not very good so buying single-game tickets will probably be more cost-effective.
I'm in a group and we have 6 mobile tickets. $200/year (I think, can't remember). If we miss some games, it's not that big of a deal. Seats are all good there, we rarely have any right behind the basket.

Works out to like $7 a game. Little more than a HS bball game

I’m not sure I love that idea, TBH. Maybe unavoidable with how good Dain has been, but I kinda think he’s a perfect sixth man. I love how our starting unit flies up and down the court and is super switchy. Dain slows that down a lot. He gives us a totally different way to attack teams, which is great, I just think that’s best suited for the second unit.

Have we seen a lineup with Mayer, Hawkins, and Dainja at the same time yet this year at all? I struggle imagining that as the starting lineup.

I would.like to see Epps start if RJ does not.

Skyy
Epps
TJ
Mayer
Hawkins

I agree with Epps. I think our best lineup has him in it. He and Dain are our most potent scorers after TSJ. So IMO, we need at least one on the court with Shannon, so defensive can’t focus on shutting him down as much.

That said, I’m hopeful RJ gets his mojo. Keep grinding young man!

Love how I pay up the you know what for cable and like 1,000 different streaming services and I can't watch this game without paying for "Big Ten Plus" which will get me nothing but the worst of the worst games. Guess it's to the High Seas, or skipping this one.
Diminishing returns?

Seriously, I love having BTN+. I get to watch, in addition to, say, the Lindenwood game, volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball, and considering the small audiences they bring in, and the costs that aren’t really less, BTN+ us worth it, at least to me.
