lol so expect a smaller version of the smallest team in the country? ok great.

Don't know how to find or post gifs but if anyone has the Tom Hanks in Splash "The little boat?!?!" - that would be perfect.

I wonder if the Gamecocks have ever played the Oregon State Beavers?

Not as good as the UC-Irvine - Oregon State baseball matchup from a few years ago

If I could figure out how to embed a pic, my comment would make a lot more sense

Mom! The Meatloaf!
It's interesting that in Lou Henson's press conference he commented on how penetration is the key to basketball today.

I hope some freshmen + Jordan can replace Tejon and Alstork as starters. Tejon and Alstork do not pose significant perimeter threats which choked our offense.

Frazier and Jordan open the the door for teammates.

I hope the freshmen + Jordan + Alstork + Tejon can all play like starters. They all have the potential and they all have had their ups and downs. Why single out Alstork and Tejon?

Love this Coach- "Our freshmen have become Juniors good for them"

I am excited to see this small ball team strategy turned loose.

Sharing Aaron Jordan's story

Aaron Jordan doesn’t seem to want to tell many details of his feel-good story.

The Illinois junior looks annoyed at the constant questions from us media about what has changed to catapult him from benchwarmer to breakout star.

“Hard work; that’s it,” Jordan said recently without further explanation.

South Carolina fans that I see in the clinic here have given me one "phrase" of advice over the past 20 years. "You can't lick our Cocks!". That is actually a true cheer and may just be one step above "The Fly is open! Let's go Peay!" (as "weird" cheers go)... :D

This seems like the perfect game to give Greg and Matic minutes. I would like to see them on the court (not together) for a few stretches.

So is that -27 something we think the Illini will cover?

Could and should cover, yes, but I kind of hope Underwood uses this game to coach and get the end of the bench some minutes, so the opportunity for a closer (-15) game is out there.

I want to see tough play against a cupcake. Enough of the "playing down to the competition" nonsense we've seen for a decade.

Matic's redshirt has already been burned hasn't it? If so hopefully he can see the floor tonight.

Plenty of minutes for Spicy G

Per BU, he would have fouled out in Vegas if played 5 minutes. Probably hyperbole, but if he's a fouling machine, he's probably good for at most 20 minutes or so.

I love Underwood's optimism. We tend to focus on the bad when the team's losing, but as a coach you have to keep the team on an even keel, and focused on what you're doing right.

CHAMPAIGN • When Brad Underwood showed up for the Illini Rebounder’s Club luncheon on Monday, he apologized for running a little behind.

“I’m sorry I’m late,” the Illini head basketball coach said. “We just committed three more fouls.”

Two days after the fact, Underwood was able to make a joke about the 36 personal fouls Illinois committed in an 89-82 loss to UNLV in Las Vegas. It wasn’t funny. But other than make it an enormous point of emphasis in practice — which he has done — he couldn’t change how the fouling negatively affected Illinois’ chance to win the game.

Line just went to -28.5. Wow. Is Longwood just horrible?

Well, their schedule sure hasn't been much. The Lancers are 3-6, with wins over North Carolina Wesleyan, Bluefield State, and Fayetteville State. Saturday they were beaten at VMI (4-5) by 11 points. Saying that, I look for an Illini win, but by less than 28.5.
