I'll say this, if we beat Maryland tomorrow I think we truly can go on a run in the Dance. Maryland has physical guards and an extremely strong interior presence and 2 guys in Queen and Reese that have the power and athleticism to give our bigs problems. I think Maryland is a team almost built in a manner to give us problems and to win this we're going to need to be tough, gritty, and put them away down the stretch. We need to show we can overcome a good physical opponent. Because if we can do that, we can do anything. Winning tomorrow would give us our 5th consecutive win over high major competition. And that's the consistency you need to get to the Final Four. Let's take down the effing Terps!

Well we might as well not even show up. Maryland is a superteam. How did they lose 7 games.

Every thing you say is correct, but there's still no reason we can't beat them. We've got weapons too. I'd bet other teams (including the terps) look at our starting lineup and cringe.

Thinking about next season, we'll still have White and Boswell. They will be the spine of the team. And they're both pretty damn good. I expect Morez to be back for sure and maybe Tomi as well. Riley? Who knows?

Yeah they seem like the quintessential Illinois kryptonite. We were able to crush Iowa yesterday because their guards are toothpicks. Hot shooting toothpicks, but toothpicks nonetheless. Not so with Maryland.

It will take another offensive game like last night, but the defense has to be better against the Terps. If Tomi and Rez stay out of foul trouble I think the Illini win.-86-81

I still vividly remember Reese and Queen laughing at us at our house as they paraded one after another with layups to the rim against our undermanned squad back then......It's time for some righteous payback against those twerps.......
Reese has been one of the more disliked players that I want to punk this time around.......He's just like his sister in being a drama queen and he also plays dirty a lot.....Get both him and Mouthpiece Queenie in foul trouble then carve them up in the paint just like they did us.......
He who laugh's last laugh's best is my motto for this revenge game.....It really really is................LET'S GO ILLINI !!!!!!

Reading the posts above makes me think we should "Rocky Balboa" them on the way to victory. Indomitable will, power, and speed should be our keys to victory.

Iowa played like one of those Wednesday teams that make a run to Sunday. They shot out of their minds. I think they were hanging 90 on just about anyone they played today. And not many teams in the BIG have the firepower to beat them if they play like that. So we ran into a bit of a buzz saw.

But so did they. We out buzz sawed them tonight. I think we play all but maybe 2-3 BIG teams thats a 25 point win.

I think we’ve turned a corner and Maryland is about to find out what a buzz saw we are.

I've been wearing my shirt from the TSJ jersey celebration for every game since Duke. It's getting washed and coming with us to the hospital tonight. We won't be able to watch the upcoming games live but there should be enough downtime waiting for baby to squeeze in some watching!
