Both previous games we could have won, last game was our best effort so far. Zones will continue to pop up on us till we make them go back to man. We will either pass effective and hit open jumper, or pop alot of 3's, whichever one works all for it. Time and more game experience might be best thing for coach and players.

Still think BU is working on a rotation, and very few said anything about how Alstork played much better at NW. Another effort like that we will be in good shape. Smith will get his minutes, think BU had trouble with his defense, and DMW, AJ had decent enough game going to get replaced.

Home game at late start, wondering if that will hurt our crowd, hope our place will be loud and proud. We have an opportunity to get on track, hope guys are up to it. Defense is solid we get to run our system, shoot against zone , stay away from fouls and silly turnovers, we will win. Have faith in the process, we are closer to having that complete game.;):illinois:

I just have a good feeling about this game...could be the amount of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale I've had, but hey...the theme is orange!

I think we will pull out a win tonight. I have faith that Underwood chewed them about the small mistakes and they will be corrected quickly. But Underwood has got to get Mark Smith out there more.

Illini 72
Maryland 70

And Michael Finke and Leron Black have got to be better tonight to give us any chance of winning.

You guys are pretty rough on Mark Smith but the sad part about it is as much as you all criticize Smith if he were in the game the outcome wouldve been different. Smith is a play-maker and can create and make plays for others.

DWill may have been a close runner for Mr. Basketball but that still doesn't take away from the fact that Smith was considered the best player in the state (whether all the Illini critics like it or not)

He missed one a backdoor cut but did take a charge (first half) blocked a shot and got a foul called. You all act like Smith is not giving an effort on defense but like everyone else he's trying.

You all talking about BU being a teacher of the game (what does sitting Smith on the bench for the remainder of the game) what does that teach any player. Talk to the player and give him an opportunity to make mends...

It will be okay because Smith is a gamer and will do what he has to do for the Illini this season....then we will see.....

You’re making a lot of wild assumptions about what I think of Mark Smith. Mark Smith spent a bunch of time on the bench last game. That’s just an observation with no judgement behind it.
